Lol - the name is unfortunate, isnt it.
Its one of the new vaginal oestrogen pessaries. Much lower dose of oestrogen than Ovestin. As I had breast cancer in 2004 I just want as low a dose as possible. I also asked to switch from Ovestin which is 500mcg to Estriol 0.01% for external use which is much lower than Ovestin. Sadly, I had to tell the Gp all this - not the other way around.

What type of breast disease?   I had a lump removed in 1995 which had changes at the margins but lymph glands were clean.

Let us know how you get on!

Hiya,
Full on breast cancer. Oestrogen and progest +ve with lymphatic involvement and DCIS. So yeah - the while shibang unfortunately. BUT - it doesnt mean I cant have vaginal oestrogen, hense why Ive been on Ovestin for a year now but looking to switch to a lower dose oestrogen.

Hiya,
Just a little update for anyone interested in IMVAGGIS. I started it Fri night and used it again lastnight. I dont feel as though Im getting as much burning from it as Ovestin although there is a small degree of itch and irritation there when its coming out and sitting around the vaginal entrance. My only main issue with it is IT’S SO MESSY! Ive woken up both nights feeling as though Im either sweating profusely down there or else it feels as though Ive smeared my entire nether regions in moisturiser/baby oil. I think I’ll have to wear knickers on the nights I use it as it goes all over the place once its dissolved. Apart from that, I think its less bothersome burning-wise than Ovestin but time will tell. But itchy tonight but hopefully it will settle.

What's wrong with Vagifem?

IMVAGGIS is new. It is a lower dose of estriol than Ovestin. Vagifem is Estradiol and not the same.
