Feeling rough
« on: August 11, 2020, 11:13:10 AM »

hi  all
Firstly I must apologise,  I only ever post when I'm not feeling to good, I do catch up almost daily to see how everyone is.
About a week ago I started to have a bit of ear pain, not ear ache just the odd pain now and again, to be honest I have been feeling a little run down, just not right in myself, got a mouth full of ulsers which is awful, trouble eating and drinking, but slowly they are disappearing,  last Friday decide to call gp about the ear, had phone consultation and dr prescribed ab's for ear infection, been taking them since Friday night and they have not suited me at all, stomach cramps, diarrhoea, awful taste in my mouth feeling sick and so on, so I took one last night and have decided not to finish the course.
The ear problem is still there so don't think it was infection anyway, I am still light headed dizzy at times been like this for over a week, tender head and like a tingly numbness around my jaw line and on my head, and a strange one, last week my left eye was streaming as was left nostril, this week its the right eye a flipping nightmare just won't stop running.

Has anyone else had ear problems, or the runny eye thing,
Oh I have wot seems to be a head ache that can't decide if wants to be there or not one minute I have one next its gone, hope someone can help with the ear / eye problem.

Thx
Karen xx

Keep well hydrated as lack of fluids can cause background headaches as well as a feeling of light headedness.  Take a pain relief tablet to ease the feelings.   It is extremely hot so we lose more fluid that we probably realise.

Sounds like peri to me.  All kinds of weird feelings.

I have allergic rhinitis so my nose/eyes/throat are often troublesome, haven't been too bad for weeks: this morning I'm sneezing like I've got a cold.  DH did a Deep Clean of our bedroom so probably left some dust behind  ::)

Don't apologise.  It's OK to share feelings.

Kazy68,  I have had similar symptoms in the past due to silent migraines.   Are you using any HRT?   The side effects of Utrogestan caused a lot of the symptoms you describe.

Thank you for reply,
Doing all of the above CLKD, fluids, pain relief and trying to keep cool, this heat is murder even worse when you add hot flushes and hot sweats to the mix.
Mary G, not on any hrt or any meds at all except my 20mg statin, maybe silent migraines I have read up on those, I'm sure the said affects the eyes, my eyes are not responding well to all the reading,
Took ibuprofen this morning helps a little with my stiff neck, feel like my shoulders are round my ears, lot of tension there,
Hopefully I will start to feel better soon, wish I did today got all 4 grandchildren tomorrow they will keep me going, do you ever find that on rough days if you have company, visitors, family the conversation about something else takes your mind off how you feel if only for a little while.

Guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself today, I'm sure I'm allowed to .

You sure can feel sorry 4 yourself, most of us have been there!

Do you keep a mood/symptom/food diary which may be helpful.  I think having company lifts the adrenaline levels which helps mood overall.

Relaxation therapy or yoga can help. It's making time for yourself as well as gentle exercise ;-)

Does the granddaughter do sign language?  It is less 'in your face' for an autistic child than eye contact and talking.

Which signing are you learning?

It's bloody awful they are still aching lol still would rather feel uncomfortable for a while than the other,
Were trying makaton, I did learn a little a few years ago when I worked in a school for children with learning difficulties, I feel it's a bit easier for a 3yr old to pick up, she has picked up a bit but I fear it's going to be a long road ahead, we will keep at it tho.
