Constant headache
« on: July 23, 2020, 11:49:00 AM »

I’m feeling dreadful lately. I’ve had a constant headache for two weeks now. And my joint pain is off the scale. I’m struggling to find a HRT to suit me at the moment. I’m 5 years post meno and 52. First few years on femoston sequi was great. Gynaecologist recommended conti. Couldn’t tolerate the continuous progesterone. Tried gel/utrogestan. I absorbed the gel to well so could only tolerate half a pump. Could not tolerate the utrogestan. It gave me really bad headaches(which have never really subsided) I tried evorel conti... that was worse. Made me aggressive. So at the moment I’m on evorel 25 and I try to take utrogestan every so often but fail. Docs don’t want me on oral hrt anymore because I’m on thyroxine and they reckon it messes my levels up.  I’m at a loss 🤦🏻‍♀️ Can’t get testosterone (I’ve tried) ..I just need help with progesterone and what is the minimum I can have with evorel 25. Just to add even on sequential femoston I stopped having withdrawal bleeds. Had scan and my ovaries have shrivelled x

Hi Tina, I don’t have any answers for you but just wanted to offer some sympathy as I suffer with a lot of headaches too and know how debilitating they can be. They completely sap your energy. I do hope someone comes along soon with some practical advice. Big hug.

Hi Tina,
Cannot help you with HRT, as I’m not allowed to take it.
I do understand your joint pain and headaches. I’ve had a headache everyday for 11 weeks. It’s been better the last couple of weeks. I’m seeing a ENT specialist on Friday as I have sinus problems too.
But I’m unsure if the headaches are menopausal related or sinus.
How are you now? Have you still got headaches?
I’ll hope you are feeling better and this menopause thing really sucks.
