Morning. It may be that there is enough wild food locally or that those types of birds simply are present in your area.  U could ask your local Nature group to see what has been reported.  I love sparrows along with the others  8)

Haven't looked out yet 2 C what might be happening out there.

We have dunnocks - often known as 'sparrow' - which are ground feeders.  There are house and tree sparrows across the UK.

Mouse filmed tidying up Powys man's shed every night

An avid wildlife photographer has captured his most unusual scene yet - a mouse tidying up his garden shed.

The only thing that stopped the squirrels with me was a big cage that my OH made which encompassed the feeders, the things I make him do  ;D

I was puzzled for a long time as to how my sunflower seed feeder seemed to get stuffed with leaves, preventing the birds from accessing it. I was looking out into the garden with a torch one night and saw something moving on the feeder - it was a little mouse, so I am sure he was the culprit! I moved the feeder further away from the shrub and there has been no more leaf stuffing!

Yesterday I heard a thump in the tree above my head and a sparrow hawk had landed; briefly - as I moved it flew off across the garden. Fast!

Found a blue tit dead inside one of the feeders and I can't for the life of me figure out why. It's one of those that have a cage all the way round the actual feeder but around the bottom half, I put chicken wire to stop the starlings devouring ALL the sunflower hearts,so either that hawk has come down or it couldn't get out but I doubt it was the latter as they all manage fine. Last time the hawk came down, the little bird had the good sense to stay put as the hawk couldn't get it through the chicken wire. Sad now ☹️☹️☹️

May have died of natural causes.  Usually we don't see the death toll as it happens in hedgerows etc..
