Bees left overnight  8) so no need to call in the Troops.  DH has plugged the hole with a piece of denim jeans so that should bees become distressed, he can pull it away.  Thus far, no sign of buzzing.

I found a dead solitary wasp this morning, I am aware of solitary bees so this is a new critter to log ;-)

Which type was it? I mean what type of markings rather than the markings of a normal wasp just out on its own.

Small.  Black/yellow.  Thin wings.  "Mason wasp".  Now we have to build yet another hotel  ::)

Had to remove 20 webs of spindle/ermine moth caterpillars ........ there are a lot in the hedgerows locally but I feel bad that we encourage as much wildlife as possible then something arrives that will eat the shrubs!

 >:(  :cuss: neighbours' kitten, probably a year old now: is a killer.

I've always said that cats catch unwell things.  Not so this one  :(.  She lurks until a bird flies into that particular shrub then grabs.  DH rescued a newly fledged blue tit earlier then spent an hour putting up wire to make her lurking spot less comfy.  I've hung feeders elsewhere but the birds insist on flying into shrubs to eat the meal worms, sunflower hearts etc..   :-\

She hasn't realised that they have moved shrubs.  Yet.  Blackbird is constantly nagging when she's in the garden.  With the wren grumbling in the background.  Now she is trying to work out a new route around that wire  :D

I keep digging up 1" long single chrysalis from slightly beneath the soil across our garden :-\.  Probably a moth but dear old GOOGLE doesn't identify it!
