The birds are So Noisy  ;D.  Also beginning to declare territories.

9 yellow crocus open to the ☀️
Bees buzzing round the winter flowering honeysuckle, snowdrops and hellebores  8).  One bee probably a queen as it was HUGE - cleaning her whiskers and back legs whilst clinging to a wooden fencing panel  :-*

Booooooo I never see squirrels anymore  :'(
All the neighbours round here have been told to stop feeding the birds due to a rat issue, one of the neighbours keeps chickens and NOT in very good conditions  >:( so he's slaughtered them 😳😳😳 and now the pest controllers will be putting down rat traps, can't say I've noticed an issue but my poor birdies will have to go hungry for a while  :(

With bird 'flu crossing species one cannot be too careful.  Squirrels carry disease similar to rats.  Stopping all feeding should get rid of the problem.  We use a trap and air rifle.  Mice take their chances against the local cat brigade  ::)

DH is now out with a branch lobber from the top of a shed, I'm trying not to look  :o

They will be OK!  There is plenty of wild food out there so what they get from us is top up.

They are lovely, we've been blessed for months with at least 12 at a time.  This week they are beginning to fight around the feeders  :o - they love sunflower hearts.

How's the rat situation?

Did any1 read the article about squirrels in properties in Scotland?  The people who do pest control don't seem to realise that a) 1 is able to trap and dispose of humanely and b) they are not allowed to release greys back into our countryside  :-\.  1 woman has two dogs but the squirrels get into her kitchen every night ......... I can't see that happening here!   ;D.  DH has cleared the cost freezer this morning  :whist:
