I've seen five in the garden together so five or more. They've been very aggressive this year with, I think, only one visiting female so lots of competition! I feed in a feeding station and two other sites in the garden. Great to view the camera footage each morning.

We keep forgetting to put our cameras out  ::).  There's certainly a lot of huffing going on, will the females have young yet?

'webbox' meat in a tin - wildlife hedgehog food

wildlife small pellets 100% natural chicken what ever that is.  I've not yet met an un-natural chicken  :-\. although they munched it up last night, these pellets don't seem particularly healthy in the additives section .......... composition is a bit suspect too  :-\

I feed Mr Johnson's (purple packet) which is recommended by rescues etc. I buy it on Amazon. The main ingredient should be animal protein at least 30 per cent I think. All of mine love it and the blackbirds clear up any leftovers.

:thankyou:  I'll have a look-C.  We've been catching mice in the shed which we put out for the jackdaw.

Birds clear up anything left over ....... including mashed potatoes, pancake mix made up .  Don't need to see Spring Watch ;-).

This is so upsetting. Gannets are amongst my most favourite birds https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-61829551

Sadly this virus is everywhere.  Despite poultry owners keeping birds under cover, although I did see a 'flock' of cockerels in Snettisham free ranging.  I sent an e-mail to the village Vet Surgery but didn't hear back  >:(

What were you wanting from the Vet CLKD? - perhaps the RSPCA might be in a better position to help

Because they may know about the situation in Snettisham and can if necessary inform DEFRA.  Nothing to do with the RSPCA.  None of the birds looked off colour, they weren't fighting though to keep 20+ cocks together is asking for trouble  ::)

By 5.ish last evening the air was cool enough to sit by the Lake watching 2 egrets, 2 herons, a male pied wagtail jumping up to catch blue damsel flies and a yellow wagtail picking up flies from dried sheep poo.

There are very few swallows/swifts this year  :-\ :'(

Is Snettisham in a current control zone?

All poultry keepers had to maintain strict hygiene rules which meant that ducks, geese, chickens, quail were to be kept shut in a shed with a covered run.  No access to free ranging at all.  From about November.  We were there at Easter when restrictions were in place across England.
