How long do they live? What happens to it when he's older?kids just don't think about these things, how long will the daily bathing last? Kids shouldn't get small pets, they just get bored of them, all these poor rabbits just left in hutches, dirty and bored, makes my blood boil

Yep.  Parents have to be responsible.

Hedgehogs don't live long if you feed them to badgers or put them into the road ;-).  You may get a surprise and get fond of the little critter.  He may have found his niche ;-)

Sorry CLKD but I find this comment quite upsetting having witnessed one of "my" hedgehogs being disembowelled in my garden by a badger. I know we've known each other for a long time but it's upset me.

At least they isolate Shadyglade ;-)

I have bulbs that I planted years ago that are lost in the weeds  >:( they have a name beginning with 'e' ......... very delicate flowers which curl up like pixie hats, on tall stems

I have just seen the biggest hornet EVER in my lounge, how it got there, I do not know, apparently it's a European hornet, took a picture of it and whilst doing so it moved and buzzed, didn't know I could throw an iPad quite so high, whilst running full speed out a door

;D.  they visit our ponds at this time of year though haven't seen any yet.

We have been watching a crow thing pulling off pieces of hop vine and flying to a very tall fir, then it disappears into the depths.  For years I have hung bits of fluff, kapok, stuffing from toys into an old bird feeder, today we watched a blue tit pulling pieces off: then flying into a nest box close by  :-*  8)

I tried orchids but they disappeared  >:( as did the plants with an 'e' although I did see one up and open yesterday  :)

But clkd,it was the size of a small bird !!! Apparently they can sting multiple times if provoked,I definitely wasn't going to provoke it  ;D
it's the Asian hornets that you've to report if you see one
