They are all over our area  ::) - a farm 2 miles away feeds them  :(.  I still stop what I'm doing though to watch them swirling through the sky  ;)

Hurry around to my house - there are four circling around making their mournful cries. I must admit I don't usually notice them nowadays as there are so many of them. They are especially good to watch at ploughing time where they follow the tractor accompanied by the buzzards. It's the only time that they don't seem to argue!

My hornets are back - nice to see them.

Just wanted to say that Hubby is Senior Ranger on a privately owned estate here in Scotland, and today they have officially opened their bird of prey centre. It's fab! 14 birds so far, including Peregrine Falcon, European Eagle Owl, Little owl and Harris hawk. The centre was built by him and his fellow Rangers completely from sustainably forested materials from the Estate. It was a lot of hard work!

He has a fantastic job, and is surrounded by breathtaking countryside and wildlife every day. It can get tough in winter when it hits minus 12 though!

Phew - thought I'd lost the plot for a while  ::)

I am sitting in the shade, feet in the sunshine.  Box of live meal worms close by, a pair of blackbirds are back and for topping up.  As close to me as 3 feet.  A robin joins in but he's not as brave.

When hubby does any digging in the garden there is a resident male blackbird that follows him behind picking up any worms that pop up, he is quite tame now (the blackbird that is, not hubby).

;D  Still working on the Hubby then  ::)

A fluffy starling is learning to pick up for him/her self - until the adults appear when it begins to swquark  ;D

STARLINGS!! I love the baby starlings - well the adult ones too of course. The first one usually arrives on the 13th May (son's birthday) but this year two arrived on the 8th and this morning there were 31 all clamouring for their breakfast. There's over 20 out there at the minute just waiting to see if they get any supper.

I meant to say the same. I bet it is a great place to work for Mr Tempest - Mr Cazikins is well jealous.
