The birds were all singing their spring songs in the sunshine today - and as I sat out in the sun this morning heard the mewing of buzzards high above me and there were our locals - five of them - come to say hello :)

:thankyou:  havne't looked at their catalogues for years  ::) - according to the national growers our local garden centres should stock them so have sent e-mails accordingly.

The Garden Centre which supposedly supplies the public from a large 'grower' can't get almonds  >:( - feel another e-mail coming on  :-X

I sent an e-mail to the grower but received a reply that showed they haven't read my message  >:( but as I have found the 2 trees we wanted which are now planted - we've sat in the sunshine watching our hard working growing  ;D.  This particular grower was featured on Gardeners' World recently ……. no good telling me to contact their outlets when I've written to tell them their outlets don't sell them!!!

Birds are busy on the feeders. Wren is scurrying round.  FIRST spawn this morning  :-*

That sounds great Hurdity. I always find it quite emotional watching birds arrive after their migration.

Crikey that's early!

No cuckoo heard yet ……. it was mid-April I think, must check and keep an ear out!

None of the tracked cuckoos have arrived back yet. http://www.bto.org/science/migration/tracking-studies/cuckoo-tracking I'm sad because "mine" was logged as Inactive for a while and has now been presumed dead. RIP Derek.

Thanks CLKD - of course I never actually met him. I can't say they are one of my favourite birds but it was interesting watching how far he used to fly on his journey!
