Storm last night, thunder, lightning and torrential lightning.
Pied Wagtail is still on the nest.
Sadly, the nest is looking smaller and ragged with bits sticking out.  :-\

At least it survived Limpy. It's such a worry when you just want it all to be ok but you can't do much about it. Was it covered before then?

The nest is under some lead sheeting Taz. Apparently, it looks as if some of the twigs have been washed away as the nest is sitting lower, though it does like some repairs have been done.

Went for short walk from home. Came across lots of tiny toads (smallest were bluebottle sized)  crossing the lane. Really had to pay attention were I was putting my feet!

……… otherwise it would have been a squelchy walk  :-X

I expect your wagtail will re-build the bits of nest if required  ;)

That's encouraging!!

I find July really strange with most of the birds not singing while they undergo their moult. Most odd to have a garden with no birdsong. It surprises me every year.

Have to: it's one of the rarer moths so we are timing them  ;)

The wagtail nest looks abandoned.
The eggs are very visible and no sign of the bird  :(

You're right CLKD - She has returned to the nest.
There's certainly enough rain here to have a bath.
The nest is in the gutter so she won't have needed to go far  ::)

She/he must be a single parent Limpy. They usually take it in turns so that the eggs are always covered.
