I helped with the SPCA (Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals) here.  Once rescued exotic lion (not me personally) our group stole her from her captor and kept her at the local vets (was zoo vet, too) and she was a secret.  Went into vets one day and all these locals sitting in waiting room and the lion is roaring and not one of them looked up.  My friend and I darn near died laughing when we got into the back room.  Big kitty?  Lion is now thriving at local zoo.  Once I carried a weapon to do a 'rescue' - crazy times.  Once took hay to a starving horse and this large pit bull came to the fence - he was dangerous looking, but when he saw the oats, he actually became friendly.  He knew.  We had to feed very slowly and it was a precious time.  Glad owner wasn't home. Sorry if off topic.

If anyone is ever short of water then please ask me for some. I am completely and utterly fed up with weather. We have had storms which caused so many trees to come down, more rain than we know what to do with,(got soaked to the skin today). My plants have either been killed or are dying. Its almost June and its bl***dy freezing. I have even had the central heating on during the day.

All I want is a little sunshine and some heat in my creaking bones.

For thos of you who dont know I am in Scotland. Where else  >:( >:(

Water for me please. My birds and insects would love some  -  especially the crows who have taken to visiting the birdtable because their natural food of worms and other grub type things have burrowed down into the soil so deeply that they can't be got at! The cat is absolutely terrified everytime one of them swoops off the roof!

Sorry you are having such nasty weather Honeyb. We should swap - what with me being a rainy, wintry person.

I have damsel fly nymphs everywhere in the water, up stems, hatching out, mating, laying eggs ........ plus tiny tiny water boat-man larvae  :-*

We're on the east coast & though they keep forecasting rain, it hasn't happened, so my poor wee plants are awfully thirsty.  Been out twice watering them today.  So dry water just running off the soil.  Fed up with the wind.  Our back fence took a hammering last Monday & I'm still waiting for someone to come & fix it.  First guy said he hates fixing ranch fencing so guess he won't be back, second guy was just an amateur.  Third comes on Wednesday.  Looks like our driveway will have to be lifted too.  FANTASTIC!  Concrete for posts under the driveway & the posts have sheered off at the concrete base.
The only thing mating here are flies.  They seem to love my kitchen window!  Birds drained neighbours bird bath the other day having a bath.  They must have put water in it for them as not been enough rain to fill it.  So Honeyb you can always send the rain our way, just keep the wind please!   ;D

Hard drizzle today! but only wetting where it touches, it isn't getting to the roots as there are too many leaves on the plants  ::)

We got rain this pm.  Saves me watering my plants today.  Looks like it's about to bucket just now, skies are black.  Hubby cycling home as I write this so he may get a teensy weensy bit wet!   ;D

Lots of heavy rain today but now the sun is out and it's a beautiful evening.
We went for a wet walk with the dog this morning - enjoyed it but discovered that our old waterproofs aren't anymore!  ;D Time for a shopping trip, methinks.  ;)

Oh I LOVE buying wet weather clothing: inner and outer layers, cool layers, warming up layers, coats with a brim or without, deep pockets and leggings  :-*

http://www.chichester.co.uk/news/peregrines-2011

Have a look at this website - it shows a live "nest cam" of peregrines. There are 4 of them & they are getting quite big now. They get fed by Mother P early evening & it is amazing to watch. They were featured on Countryfile last weekend.
Sometimes there is not a lot going on & I am waiting for them to start learning to fly - I think a few of them have had a go.
It is all happening in my local area & the same parents have been roosting in the Cathedral for the last 11 years.
Love Cazi xx
