No imported animal/bird is allowed to be released into the UK Wild unless under Licence i.e. grey squirrels  >:(

Hedgies don't make good pets. They go to sleep in the winter for a start  ::)

Thanks ladies, I haven't asked him if it's one of those pigmy ones, I seriously hope it ISNT a wild one,he took it from a pal who's mum was going to be selling it,poor bloody animals,apparently these don't hibernate clkd,as they wouldn't survive,according to stepson

It's the latest craze. They don't have the hibernating ability as they are from Africa and food is available all year round. There is info on the RSPCA website about them.

Thanks Taz,just looked and they DONT recommend them as pets and understandably too >:( oh and it is a Pygmy one

Have the conversation then?  Let us know ........ how can the UK Government allow imports of more animals, there are enough rescue centres already  >:(

Sometimes I hate Nature  :'(.   I netted 3 frogs earlier, could see the mass at the bottom of the pond.  Two had drowned a third  >:(.  I have had frogs drown gold fish too.  It's that time of year  :-\

I have a hedgehog again, can't sleep so am watching tv quietly and I heard a noisy patio slab and spotted the culprit snuffling along x

Yay CG, I love my hedgehog 🦔 it's good when they return.Now my squirrel 🐿 on the other hand,little blighter is digging up our garden at the mo.

Frogs drown each other mostly by all trying to mate at the same time. They all clamber on to the back of the female and down she goes if she's not strong enough. That happens to ducks too sadly.  Your squirrel is trying to find the nuts etc he buried... ;D
