Britain's Mark Cavendish will race in the 2019
Tour de Yorkshire
, which begins in Doncaster on
Thursday
, as he continues his return from illness.
Last month, Cavendish, 33, withdrew from Paris-Nice and then missed Milan-San Remo, two months after he had returned to cycling after being laid low by the Epstein Barr Virus.

All those fans that bought the Sky kits
We were at Mum's recently and a cyclist leaned his bike against the lamp post outside, I went to see if he had a puncture but he was taking a rest. We invited him to use the facilities and he topped up the drinks bottles from the cold tap. He had started in York
and cycled through the night on his way to Peckham. He hadn't decided whether he would attempt it again

There is a bike ride around here called the Carten (Cardiff to Tenby) it was due to be held tomorrow but because of the weather forecast it's been called off
. It's already very gusty so better safe than sorry

The cyclists were lucky coming through our village the roads were dry and yet we were watching them on TV to see progress and just a few miles away it was pouring down!

we will have le Tour Yorkshire on TV and MotoGP on lap top from Friday onwards - a bit of juggling then.
Look at that water on the bottom of the chaterised climb
- Kittel didn't start and one has abandoned 10 mins. ago.
What were you wearing YG? I missed you!

You won't believe it I recorded it and we had a look they missed the main part of village as first it was aerial shots then they went to the front runners and they were going over motorway bridge and when they panned back the peloton were heading towards bridge. Cameras missed all our villages wonderful decorations!!

Oh put them onto facebook?
That happened here when the women went through last year, the School kids got filmed but in the village - I said to DH "I don't think that the cameras were being trained through our village!" and when looking at the feed back, yep. Not one film and we are FAMOUS .......
31.5 to go ....... who is going to win?

Break up at the most important moment
- I pity the camera men on motorbikes in this!
I fear carnage
Which there wasn't, other than the winner picking up a Yorkshire flag which could have taken his eye OUT! I always get a sense of come-down at the end

Girls racing in wet conditions; scenery in Yorkshire still lovely. Showed a large river with huge weir earlier. Got to get used to the new team colours as Lizzie has moved
. Men start at lunchtime, any chance that they will overtake the girls?
MotoGP on TV. Cricket could be on the 3rd screen if DH has his way
- no F1 this weekend?
Well that was done then! Looks chilly up North. With drizzle
