How long for Ovestin to work.
« on: May 25, 2020, 04:36:38 PM »

Started Ovestin two weeks ago for the external tissues and have just started Kliovance HRT, still using Vagifem. Am I right in thinking it will take several weeks before I notice a difference? I am improving very slowly, but the soreness on the outer area is still not good. Is there an alternative to Hydromol? Had a great morning today, but by this afternoon it's back. It's all so unpredictable. I am due to go to an elderly peoples home on Friday to play my keyboard in the garden and am dreading sitting. Someone on this site told me it can take longer to ease as I made the mistake of stopping vagifem, how right they were. Replies appreciated.

Yes, it can take a long time and in my view two weeks is too soon to expect much improvement. It took a long for the oestrogen to become depleted before we felt anything untoward, so it's going to take a while to put things to rights. Sorry, this isn't what you want to hear and I can only advise patience. Things will improve but gradually.

What else have you tried besides hydromol? Its a bit thick and I'm wondering if it allows the Ovestin to sink in properly? Is it easy to get off? I used it a long time ago as a barrier to prevent wee stinging, but can't remember a lot about it.

What joaniepat said.  It takes a long time (depending on severity) to work.  Be patient..you will get there.

Thanks for responding girls. I have tried yes products and Olive and Bee. Not sure Olive and Bee suited me. I also tried Vmagic, but that is a big No No. I was using the hydromol to prevent wee sting. I agree I have to be patient, one thing I am not. Had a better day, but now burning and can't focus on anything. Might try an ice pack. Last time it took nearly 8 months. No quick fix so patience it is then.

I never get on with any of the "greasy" ones either, although have managed to use a tiny bit of emu oil when out and about. The only one I like is Yes VM, but presumably you have tried that too. I'm not much help am I   ::). Anyway, I do hope the ice pack helps.

You have been a great help Joaniepat by just responding. Yes, I like the Yes VM. Ice pack wasn't really helpful so an early night for me. Hoping for better things tomorrow. Thank you.
