C-19 - what does it stick to and for how long?
« on: May 24, 2020, 10:54:54 AM »

I really should write to my mother in care ...... but I have put off sending anything as I can't find out how long this Virus sticks.  I don't know that if I put a letter in a double envelope and wrote 'please wash your hands next' that she would take any notice.  Her current attitude seems 2B 'I'm not doing anything that she tells me'.

She doesn't get it.  !

Morning. Fortunately the home locked down well B4 Boris made the suggestion.  Staff are staying for 5-6 nights in different groups.

When I sent a letter to the Manager to be handed over, Mum denied all knowledge of having received anything from me: until I pointed out how it was delivered, she went very silent.  She had however a moment B4 reminded me that she had a letter from my sister often.

She fixates on her chair.  However much she is told by the Staff that if someone is sitting in it that another 1 will be found ....... she mutters 'I don't believe them, they won't notice and I'm not asking. I will go to my room and sulk'.

So she has nothing else in her head except that chair.  Any memory problems are due to that issue.  She told me years ago that "I would like to get Alzheimers". 'why?' .  "So that they will make more fuss of me in Church Dear".  A couple had moved to the village and he had regular small fits so people rallied round and she was jealous.  She didn't listen when I explained that someone with dementia issues wouldn't remember being made a fuss of "I would Dear!"

>sigh< - I have raised this issue with her medical team and they can find nowt wrong.

We were told CLKD, NOT to touch my OHs personal belongings for three days.
I also read some where, the virus can live on surfaces, including cardboard and paper for up to four days. xx

I have talked to 3 people involved with C-19 in various ways and none know exactly how long this Virus lives on any particular surfaces.

I read that the only thing it can't live on is copper.
