Hiya all
I'm so new to all of this n not sure which way to turn ..I'm having a lot of bizarre symptoms like internal vibrations ear problems dizziness to make a few ..I'm 51 years old and my periods are  basically every 3 month ..my dr has given me novofem tablets 3 months supply this contains 16 red tablets and 12 white tablets for the month so basically take the 16 red then follow through with the white
.can some 1 give me some information kn these and what exactly in them ..apparently these are meant for ppl post menopause (not had a period for 12 month or longer) but I'm in peri as I have periods roughly every 3 month are these still ok for me to take with still having periods
Thanks
Ps does any 1 else get the same problems I have listed above

Yep.  The Change - does what is says on the tin.  And some  >:(  ::). Menopause means the last monthly period: but we don't know for at least 12-18 months when the last one was!  Mine waxed and waned for several years  ::).

Don't start this HRT if you think it's incorrect.  Maybe put the name of the product into the search box to see what pops up?  Make notes ;-).  Some keep a mood/food/symptom diary to chart progress.

As oestrogen levels drop the body may become dry: inside and out so do read our thread on vaginal atrophy: this can cause irritation in the ears, nostrils, eyes, skin ....... and muscles may become lax = aches and pains.  I have a problem when moving my neck sometimes, causes a sudden 'oh' or I feel like my feet aren't going in the correct place!

Hi Deandy

I was prescribed this in peri too...its a sequential HRT with both oestrogen and progesterone (red tablets have oestrogen then white ones have both).

Did you get the symptoms before you started taking or since you started taking?

Hi Deandy0110

 :welcomemm:

Yes these are the correct ones if you are peri-menopausal as Mogster says. Some of the instructions written on the medicines website are incorrect by suggesting that some preparations are for post-menopausal women at least 6 months since last period. This is not how HRT is prescribed, at least not in UK. Anyone who is peri-menopausal can be prescribed cyclical HRT, and sometimes even when post-meno, if the doc thinks HRT is indicated and the woman wants to try it.

Full detailed information can be found here:
https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/product/1627/smpc

Has the doc undertaken invesitgations to see if there are other potential causes for your symptoms? Do you have flushes and sweats and do you take any other meds that might mask these symptoms?
