Good afternoon ladies,

45 in 11 days, peri for 3 years, hrt for 2 symptoms still prevalent. Think the missing link is testosterone.

So I've got an appointment to get my mirena removed next week woohoo. Not agreeable with me. I will be given a sequential progesterone tablet as apparently still no joy with evorel supply. Oral progesterone doesn't agree with me either but the thought of going cold turkey makes me fearful  I asked regarding utrogestan was told no and again asked for testosterone was again told no. This was by a meno specialist Dr. She did say she would refer my request of utrogestan and testosterone to my GP so here's my question. NICE guidelines regarding testosterone (from memory which isn't great lol) says testosterone can be considered but the Dr may refer you to a specialist. However, I've asked  the specialist and she has already said no to my requests. So then, when I attend my GP and they say I need to see a specialist Dr and the specialist Dr has already said no.... caught between a rock and a hard place  I can feel the brick wall getting built.

Have any ladies been able to get testosterone on the NHS in Scotland. If yes what health board? Or was it via a private Doctor and was it a testosterone from the NHS? If yes, could I be advised of the private Dr details please just incase I have issues with the NHS. I am under Glasgow and Clyde health board. Thanks folks.

Just to let you know, I'm in Scotland and have been posting on here recently about my awful issues getting Utrogestan in Scotland. Long story - but I was getting it then suddenly I had it stopped by my GP!
(I haven't even asked for testosterone in Scotland because I tried it once when I lived in Wales and it made me spotty, cross and had no effect on my libido!  )

I have managed to buy it online, at least in the short term I will do this, but I too want to have a private consultation somewhere in the Central Belt . I am under NHS Lothian.  Just wondered if you manage to have any luck, could you please let me know?
I'm just going to send you a PM but am not sure how long you need to be a member/how many posts before you can receive personal messages, so I'm writing on this thread too!

Thanks for your response. Sorry to hear of your issues, it's a nightmare isn't it! It's such a battle when all you want is quality of life. It's not much to ask. GP's act like God at times, hopefully you can see a more sympathetic one who will reinstate it for you.

I will keep you informed should I have any luck. I have sent a few emails to private clinics (no idea which one's, emailing at 22.30 in desperation  ) I did receive an email regarding bio-identical hormones, not something that I would be interested in.

I am quite new with the forum so have probably seen your previous threads but have missed how to reply lol!!!

I have a feeling I may need to escalate if I get nowhere with my health board.  Keep fighting, even though it's the last thing you can be bothered with. I will keep you informed of any breakthroughs.

Just an update. No responses from the private clinics. I have been given Provera as my progesterone. I'm only 4 days in so I will see how I get on with it I suppose. If it doesn't agree with me I will ask for Utrogestan. I have however, been prescribed Tostran ( I'm thinking they are prescribing at the moment rather than seeing you face to face, so it might be a good time to try for the Utrogestan)  been using that 3 days per week. Only on about my 6th day so will need to see how it works out. Did your husband write the complaint letter? I hope you're feeling a bit better x

I'm in Scotland and have found out that utrogestan isn't authorised for use in Scotland for HRT. Has anyone had any luck getting it from their GP?

I'd really love to be in it, rather than Evorel Sequi, which has synthetic progesterone in it. Also, really struggling to find the Evorel Sequi patches now!
