Hi, Ive been on Evorel Sequi for 3 years and love it. I'm trying to find a way of getting the same mix of hormones that evorel sequi gave me and which I haven't been able to obtain for a few months. Because it was unavailable, my Doctor replaced evorel Sequi with an Estrogel pump (2 squirts a day) and Utrogestan 100 daily. I wasn't given a consultation to explain the change and only realised it was different when I picked up the repeat prescription from the chemist. It seemed to me that I had been changed to the equivalent of evorel Conti and not Sequi. I didn't want to take  HRT in tablet form so I bought, online, 6 months supply of Evorel Conti patches which was available although very expensive! So I haven't tried the gel/ tablets to date. However the continuous daily progesterone part of Conti is not suiting me at all. I have gone back to sleepless nights, complete loss of libido, aches and pains and almost continuous bleeding.
I think I've worked out that if I were to take 2 pumps of Estrogel a day for 2 weeks followed by 2 weeks of Evorel Conti patches this would be the same effect as Evorel Sequi patches. I wondered if anyone could comment on whether this sounds ok to do! Many thanks, Fiona. I think I've posted this in the wrong section but can't work out how to post in the right place - sorry!

In theory it's equivalent but you may find you absorb more from either the gel or patch. You could use gel with utrogeston on a cycl,  12 days of 200mg, I think from day 15 but better check if that's the way you go. You can use utro vaginally, many people on this site do, same product, just push it up as far as you can just before you go to bed.
I think evorel is available again now?

Thanks Sheila, I thought it would work but just needed a second opinion to confirm my thinking! I've got 7 months of Evorel Conti patches to use up so as I can get the Estrogel I thought this was a way of using the patches but in a way that would be like taking Evorel Sequi which is still unavailable. They?ll last me 14 months this way so although it was expensive buying them online at least I've got some value from them. I really appreciate you replying😊

Can you get a prescription for the evorel oestrogen only patches? That way you can use up the conti patches and there'll be no problem with differing absorption rates. And the prescription won't be a double charge  :)

That's a great suggestion - I didn't know there was a oestrogen only patch.I've looked online and Evorel 50 is out of stock on all sites but once it is available I will go down that route. Thank you - I really appreciate your advice.

hi You could use the Oestrogel every day, but use the Utrogestan on a sequi basis....200mg for 12 days on days 15 - 26 of your cycle. This will give you the equivalent of Evorel Sequi patches x
