Evorel Conti patch
« on: April 25, 2020, 07:05:24 PM »

Hi! Can I just ask a quick question from anyone who has experience of Evorel conti ?
I am on these patches, have been for 3 months, before this I went a year and a half with no periods,
I came on 4 days ago really heavy, with terrible period pains and it hasn't stopped or gone away yet,
Has anyone else had this, do they stop???? Doctor told me I would be period free on these..

Hi Robotwars. I had exactly the same after 3 .months. It is perfectly normal for up to 6 months and .maybe longer.  I was told this at the meno clinic.  My surprise bleed came last September and has continued monthly since then but getting gradually lighter and lighter. My last one lasted 2 to 3 days and was only a trickle (nothing at night). I had a hysteroscopy after 4 months as a precaution in case of polyps or fibroids but nothing was found. I am supposed to also be having a biopsy as a precaution but it has been delayed due to the Covid 19 problems at hospitals. I am going to wait another month before chasing it up. I am hoping that it will stop completely now and I can avoid having it done.

I changed for evorel sequi where I had a regular bleed to conti. Didn't have a bleed for a few weeks but then very very heavy for a few days and bad cramps then no bleeding for 10 days then spotting and light bleeding for 14 days. It has stopped now for a week but slight spotting today. I'm hoping it settles. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your replies, im hoping it will get better but all my life I have suffered with period pain and I thought now they had stopped I was finally over them but it seems not!!! its the period pains that are taking their toll and how heavy it is, I was expecting spotting, or light bleeding but for example I went for a walk yesterday as part of my daily exercise at these strange times then I started bleeding heavily and within 2 hours it had leaked...?. but over night was light!!! then again this morning come on very heavy..... I hope it improves.

Hi Robotwars  I haven't had any heavy bleeding except for the first time when it took me by surprise and was like an old fashioned period lasting up to 8 days. I doubt that even that was really heavy by most women's definition of heavy but i did leak onto sheets during the 1st  night (without a pad) . During the bleeding I have been using small Lil Lets normal flow tampons and they are nowhere near saturated. It is possible that you do have fibroids or polyps perhaps?

1 small tip given to me by my osteopath was that it is better to apply the patches (or take tablets in her case) exactly 3.5 days apart. I was told to change patches on wednesday and Sunday (so slightly uneven 3 and 4 day intervals). Since february I have been trying to change mine on Saturday evening instead of Sunday morning. This has slipped my mind a couple of times. I forgot on this Saturday evening and didn't change it until Sunday morning. I have a tiny amount of bleeding this morning (just when I wipe). I haven't decided whether this is making a difference or not but I am going to continue it a bit longer. Probably less likely/relevant with heavier bleeding.

I have put a few pounds on in the past month but think it is more to do with lockdown and reduced exercise. I have managed 12000 steps today though.
