I ran out of 75mcg patches and gave up on relying on chemist stock so ordered my own oestrogel.
It's great, 3 pumps = 75mcg equivalent in patch, dries in really quickly, bit of a pain applying daily but last night I got no sweats like I normally do on 75mcg patches.
I sweat on 75mcg patches as I really need 100mcg patch but abnormal bleeding occured so GP reduced me to 75mcg sweats started up immediately, but no sweating on gel last night.
Has anyone who has moved from gel to patches found they may need less gel, I wonder if I should move to 2 pumps a day in case its stronger and bleeding starts up again.

I found the opposite when I went from gel to patches.
I used 6 pumps of Oestrogel and went down to 75 mcg of Estradot.

It didn't stay that way though and I ended up on 200 mcg

I did but the patches rarely stuck on properly for 3 days so I put it down to that. People react differently to the different carriers used. Perhaps reduce half a pump at a time until you're at the minimum dose that controls your symptoms?

Do you mean 200 microgram patch?
If so that's massive dose.
So is 6 pumps.
I got too many useful information on here.
Some ladies say that the gel is absorbed much better when applied to the arms and shoulders, and not the thighs.
I found it absorbs really really well when applied to the arms and shoulders, I'm just unsure if I should reduce the dose so the bleeding doesn't come back.

Thanks but I would not be able to measure half a dose.
I'll see how tonight goes.
bleeding came back and I had a really heavy period and I feel to go to the doctor's but it's gone again thank God.
This was before I moved to gel.
If the bleeding comes back I reduce the dose of gel and wait for the bleeding to go and then see my GP.

I was prescribed 200 mcg by a Specialist - 2 x 100 mcg patches.
I have reduced a bit (175mcg) to fit in with my symptoms.
For me the focus is not the dose but how much I absorb

I'm the opposite too. Estrogel was great for me to start off with (applied to inner thighs).

Now lots of symptoms have returned, despite gradually increasing to 6/7 pumps. Trying to put some of it on upper arms and shoulders now but I'm not very happy applying it there.

Desperate now to get back onto patches again to see if that sorts things out again. Suspect it will.

All very frustrating!

My GP referred me to Nick Panay's NHS Menopause Clinic at The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. They prescribed the 200 mcg and my GP does the repeat prescriptions.

Everyone's different. It's all about finding your own sweet spot. Things can change at different age/stage too.

I'm in my mid 60s now and 1 pump of gel is perfectly adequate to relieve all the horrible night sweats and flushes, though 10 years ago I needed 2 pumps to do the same.

The worst is when you can't get your regular prescription due to supply problems and have to go back to the drawing board - so frustrating!

I had another night where 3 pumps gel felt like 100mcg patch.
Although I sweated when GP reduced patch from 100mcg to 75mcg due to abnormal bleeding, I have pelvic pain and more pink discharge today, so I am going to reduce to 2 pumps gel to see if pelvic pain stops.
Vulva also feel like it did before periods.
I really should have seen my GP in Dec when bleeding started up again despite her reducing my patch but I couldnt pluck up the courage.
Hopefully reducing to 2 pumps will stop bleedinng.

Blimey, this oestrogel stuff is good.
It dries really quickly.
I got dark brown discharge today, not good so, I did go ahead and reduce to 2 pumps today.
Here's hoping that the 2 pumps works and there is no more bleeding.
Once I am confident there is no more bleeding, as it starts and stops, and I should have gone back to GP, I will pluck up courage to go back and let them know.
I get yellow discharge most days but I assume that's the vaginal utro coming out, even though the stuff is bright white.
