I used to get it a lot, first thing in the morning.  I would sit on the loo and feel as if I'd had skin full the night before.  It happened on a regular basis for several months but then just stopped.

Awful.  ? vertigo ? have you had a cold recently?  I would know B4 I opened my eyes that it was there  >:( and didn't dare move.  For hours++.  GP gave me medication which stopped any nausea.

Another thing in common Jeepers I had vertigo on Easter Saturday. I probably get it a couple times a year. Can be when I first wake up or it can last for days.

This one for me started about midday, I have the feeling like I've come of a plane, unstable on my feet. For me if I have my had on the wrong angle it gets worse, like looking down to chop food or brush teeth. By Saturday night I lied down and on my left side it was I was on a ride the room was spinning, I was lucky I could sleep on my right side with very little movement. I have improved very day since, and I think I'm back to normal.

My doctor told me it's my inner ear that's off balance. Doesn't usually last to long with me sometimes only 10 minutes sometimes days, with the worst being at night when I lie down.

I hope your feeling better now Jeepers

Laying down and trying to sit up ......... nnnoooo  :-\

I have a nerve in the back of my neck which can trigger instability, very briefly.  Enough to go 'oh' and it's gone.

Vertigo is the absolute worst thing. I have suffered from this for years, didn't actually realise it was a peri symptom until last year!! Mine started way before this in my 20s though, same as CLKD I have a nerve in my neck that causes me problems. As well as any head cold or sinus/ear complaint. Have you had hayfever recently?

Hope you feel better soon x

It could be labyrinthitis. There seems to be a lot of it around at the minute at least in this area (South). I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for all of your replies ladies, it's reassuring that it can be quite common, and hopefully will pass (and it's hopefully not covid19)

Jaypo... I must be woozy, when I read your reply, I was puzzled  as to why your dr would make you eat fish  :D.  I?ll see if I can get some...(of the tablets). Should I rung the pharmacy, what's the protocol these days?  I have pant gone to work today, and im a complete workaholic

I went back to sleep. Lyncola.  Hug...(()).. it seems to be better lying on my right side, or propping myself up a bit.  Was this your first episode, or have you had i5

I managed to go back to sleep, and when I woke it was not so extreme, although I still feel nauseous, and moving around isn't pleasant.  I've managed to have some tea and toast, thought it might settle my stomach a bit.

Clad... I get sharp pins sometimes at  the top of my spine, just where that big bone is ( assuming I'm not the onl6 one with a big knobbly bit at the base of my neck)

Thank you all again  :-*

Monster, I've just seen your post... I do get hay fever, and have already had symptoms  this year.  I've also got tinnitus , and I may have some residual ear damage following years of scuba diving ( I gave it up over a year ago, diving and anxiety not being great companions)
