Hoping that you are all staying well at this strange time xx

Itchy vagina a week before period, eased it with cream and a 80% improvement.

Today had the usual period cramps and took a mefenamic acid tablet as usual.

But the cramps got so painful it made me sick and dizzy and sweaty. Just the same as normal cramps but a million times worse.

Any ideas on why the above occurred/changed from normal? I'm 4 years into peri and not on HRT. I'm coping well. All been checked out with ultrasound, I have fibroids.

Pain was so bad I would have called an ambulance under normal circumstances when no covid 19.

Oh POOR U I remember period pains really really well.  I would ring a Pharmacist to see what else to take with regards pain and how much.

A warm bath might help? or a hot water bottle?  I was told to exercise, but I couldn't move !

I had the itching prior to a period starting, high up as well as after a bleed finished.  Probably dryness or a bit of thrush. Keep up with the cream, remind me what you use?  Perhaps use it a few days prior to the next expected bleed?

Thanks for your support. I couldn't move either.

I have a pretty high pain threshold. I thought of getting in the bath but couldn't move and I did have a hot water bottle. But I was in agony. I couldn't even get off the floor, nothing worked as it usually does to control the pain.

I have prescribed meds which are good but the pain this time was horrendous.

I just wondered if anyone else has had this pattern occur?

When I say I have a high pain threshold I mean that I can have a four hour operation on my eye socket with a skin graft from my lip and donor material sewn over an implant in my eye socket, without Morphine or painkillers!!!!

The pain today was unbelievable.

I have had the ultrasound and tests.

I think it's just a one off bad experience. I will go to the doctors if it happens next month.

Yes greatly improved thanks. It's just lingering like it usually does. So I'm ok now.

The tablet stayed down thankfully so it must have stayed in my system. It is just a mystery why it was so excruciatingly painful.

Perhaps it's stress, the coronavirus has taken some getting my head around. I had an appointment to make my artificial eye cancelled too.

Oh well, all is good now,.

PHEW! tension can cause muscles to tense up but stress never affected my period pains, they were HORRENDOUS  :'( and I dreaded each month.

I used to dread it, but the prescribed meds are brilliant.

The more I think, the more I am convinced it's stress from the coronavirus pandemic.

I have nightmares which are around about the time of my monthly cycle and they have been worse lately.

The nightmares aren't too bad and I manage them well by a serious of thoughts I run through my mind when I wake afterwards.

Thankfully yesterday and today I have been free of the nightmares and PMT  My PMT is about a week before my period. Also I have gotten my head around the virus situation now.

I try to document things on here as a way of getting support and just as importantly to share my experiences in the hope thst others don't feel alone.

When stressed my dreams become longer and more involved: last night I and a neighbour were in Italy and the places were rammed - then there would be a gap with me alone .......... then DH appeared and we tried find neighbour who had disappeared [that happened to me on the London Undergound 30 years ago, my companion disappeared behind a pillar and I froze].

Would it be an idea to take the medication when the PMT begins to ease any affected muscle groups?  How do you feel this morning?

Interesting point about your dreams.

I'm ok now thank you. I rested yesterday which has helped.

Update a week after.

All ok.now, back to.normal and itching gone.

I have fibroids and I know they make periods painful. I am wondering if they have gotten bigger with the hormone inbalance?

I'm ok with it if the fibroids have become enlarged. It is just part of the menopause and if I can I would rather not interfere with meds.

Let's hope it was a one off, I will try and remember to post here when my next cycle arrives. At least it may help someone if tgey are going through the same.

If you get itching before your next period I would treat for thrush. I had it with no symptoms except for the run up to a period.
