I think a certain age group thinks 'we've been through the War'  ::).  Keeping distance and making sure that the surfaces are wiped regularly is important where we go.

Russia had its first death today.
India has also been doing well, considering the size of the population and living standards in rural areas (no running water). My local shop owner is from India and was telling me how welk they were controlling it. But it may just be under reporting. Who knows.

Wow, I'm very surprised about India especially.

I think it's only just beginning in India. We are a few weeks behind Italy and they are a few weeks behind us I believe https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-asia-india-51962813/india-must-prepare-for-a-tsunami-of-coronavirus-cases

Thanks jilly.  I think you're probably right. It creates a false sense of security. Its worrying time for us all.

As Jari states - no new cases in China - is this reported, hospitalised cases?

Also Korea had no new reported cases yesterday

Don't get too excited about this. It is wonderful news but this type of virus has a habit of returning in a more virilant form, particularly after being surpressed. This happened with the so called Spanish Flu, after WW1.  The second wave a few months later, was much more wide spread and deadly.

it puzzles me that Italy has had strict lockdown in place for several weeks but their death toll is still escalating.

I wondered if it was because they tend to live multigenerationally (not sure if that's a word) so they just can't self isolate to protect themselves x

It's a good enough word CG!  Same in many Asian countries, because they look after their elders.  Land is in short supply for building so families build tenements each having their own levels but mixing.  Often.
