Help!! Put a patch on one day early by accident
« on: March 17, 2020, 10:46:38 PM »

I can't believe I've done this but I could've sworn today was Wednesday my usual patch change day, of course it was only Tuesday & for the first time in the 4 years of using patches I've gone & put one on on the wrong day :-\. I don't know what to do now, should I change my change over days from Wednesday & Saturday to Tuesday & Friday?? Or just carry on as normal with the original change days even though it'll mean the patch will be on one extra day? I have also just changed from Estradot patches to Evorel 50 due to the current shortages of Estradot & today is the first day using Evorel 50 which makes it even more annoying that I've done this :'(. Both patches are the change twice a week type. I'm also still wearing the last of the Estradot patch as I usually keep it on for a few hours until the new patch is fully absorbing (so wearing two patches at once for a few hours) so do I take that off tonight even though it still has a day left? Hence I am getting a double whammy with the new patch & the end of the old patch?? Sorry hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance for any advice  :o

Morning Goosieloosie

I'd say do whichever you prefer. Either stick with your new day from now on or go back to your old day.
The worst that could happen is you might get a bit of symptom breakthrough but that will settle when you?re back to normal   :)

Hi Goosieloosie - I'm often doing this but usually it's the other way round - I forget to change. THis is only since changing from 3.5 days ( so sticking with the same days per week which I did for years) to every 3 days which I've been doing for maybe a year or two? I have a reminder on my phone but if I miss it then I miss the patch, Have just done this now. I then alter my calendar to change the days but as you are doing it twice a week you probably won't want to do that. Sometimes I would just slowly readjust eg change the days a bit until you got back into sync again. Like Salad says it doesn;t really matter especially if you don't notice (I don't otherwise my body would alert me that I'd forgotten!).

I wouldn't worry. In one week you have a 3 day patch and a 4 day patch so patches are designed to last 4 days. If you change as normal on Saturday you'll have had it on for 4 days so it shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you all, yes I guess I'll just stick with my usual change days because if I change them I'm bound to confuse myself even more lol! I'll change it earlier on Saturday than I usually do & like you say Hurdity I shall gradually adjust the time until I'm back to normal. Be safe everyone :-*
