Hi all, I'm new to this site and am looking forward to reading everyone's different stories.

I had a total hysterectomy 11 years ago when I was 40. The doctor wanted me go on HRT as I was still quite young and there was a higher risk of osteoporosis. A couple of weeks ago the doctor told me to stop taking them straight away as my blood pressure is very high. The first couple of days I felt ok them bang I felt awful, I was crying non stop then felt really angry then felt like I couldn't cope anymore it is horrible. I went back for a follow up with doctor today and my blood pressure is still really high so she has put my blood pressure tablets up. I'm so confused about the menopause, because I had a total hysterectomy I went into what they call a medical menopause and straight on HRT so I didn't have any symptoms but now I'm not on HRT I don't know if I will have menopause symptoms. Has anyone else been through the same or similar.

I hope this makes sense and look forward to reading any replies.

It sounds as though you're already having meno symptoms. When you've been on HRT no one knows what they'll be like when they come off it, you can only try it and see. I think you can go back on HRT when your BP in under control again so hopefully you won't have to suffer for too long. No experience of a hysterectomy but hopefully someone else will be along soon.

We do indeed. Whoever designed women to live have their lives deficient in oestrogen should be strung up
