Members arrive at MM for advice.  Many may have tried the NHS option of GP/Practice Nurse and not found advice or an HRT that helps their symptoms.   Sometimes for many years without being listened to or understood so that symptoms continue being troublesome.

Lack of GP awareness is stated at MM many times over during the years making it obvious that the message about HRT simply isn't reaching GP surgeries.  So questions are asked in all innocence.

All responses should be valued.  Regardless of whether they have been cleared by NICE or if the British Menopause Society agrees/not.

No response should appear as 1 size fits all.  No response should appear as though one idea is being pushed against any others.  We are adults and can make informed choices.  An experience shared can assist someone - if only to make it evident that they aren't going mad, that it is hormonal upheaval.  Experiences can be considered by others to be used if appropriate or stored for later.

[Does anyone have any idea why I was called out regarding my response to the original page from westie ? who had been to see Dr Newson previously  :-\.

Your GP is a separate issue. You absolutely should not have to pay to see a private gynae however good they are - you have mentioned the expense and you really do not need to pay for this. (CLKD!!) and I would always encourage womane to try to get the treatment that is their right, through the NHS. Can you go to another doctor in your practice specifically to consult re menopause and HRT? I go to my gynae GP specialist (NHS) where I live just about all things gynae but my regular doctor about other stuff (or whoever is available at the time). The Newson Clinic should in any case have written to your GP so that care can be handed over locally.

or why Mary Jane was singled out?

What is the saying?

'I disagree with what you say but I defend your right to say it'.

I think that should be the moto of all forums.  So long as you do not post or promote anything illegal or offensive, members should be able to express their views.  Even if it is considered 'on the edge'  by others.

Well that's what I think anyway.

Hello ladies.

Shadyglade - I completely agree with you. The whole point of a forum is to exchange different views and opinions.
I trust Emma to intervene if comments become offensive. I also think it better to draw a line and move on rather than re ignite past disagreements.

Wishing you well.

CLKD,
From reading what you have written here over the years I
have come to some unfolding conclusions about you.  You seem to be a
person who inhabits a large landscape.  There is a lot to you and it
makes it enjoyable to read what you write because of the vastness of
the area you can cover.

You seem kind and kindness is something that I hold very high in what
I choose to admire.

I've been encouraged by you. You have played a part in getting me to
do some things that I was pleased that I have done.   :foryou:
