Too soon to say??
« on: February 27, 2020, 02:19:55 PM »

Hi all

I know of the placebo effect and there is a danger of over estimating what HRT can do....and I don't want to give the wrong impression to others.

But one of my problems was feeling that my pelvic floor was getting weaker.  I have put my patch on an hour ago and I'm getting a sense of things being less of an effort and I'm also noticing more sensation down below.  If I clench my muscles I can actually feel more happening than I have done in the last few months.  If I tried to do this before my muscles would be fatigued after 2 - 3 tries.  Now I've just done it ten times, more sensation, more muscle tightening, and no muscle fatigue.  Just after 1 hour.....feeling very hopeful.  That said, my coughing and peeing had almost stopped once the flu stopped, so maybe i'm just having a good day.  I know what I'm thinking though and I hope it continues.

I'm also feeling a 'rushing' feeling at times around my body.  Not a bad feeling at all.  Anyone relate to this, it's not that much, just here and there.

I feel 'cool' as well.  Very weird.  I wasn't having hot flushes at all, but I have this 'cool' feeling.  I feel like a cool mint, lol

Hello KaraShannon.

I completely understand your hope and enthusiasm! It's such a relief to feel even slightly better that we are bound to get excited. I've lost count of the times I've worried about jinxing things.

I think part of the trouble with this menopause malarkey is that we become super sensitised to every little twinge  good or bad, then obsess about it until something else comes along.

As you know the placebo effect is sustained by belief but actual chemical changes are what we want and hopefully your sensations are a sign that your body is responding to your HRT.

I'm sure other ladies will be along with their experiences but in the meantime enjoy feeling better and long may it continue.

Take care.

K.

LOL, well I have had more energy for most of today.

Placebo or not I'll take it.  Let's see how things go.  ;D

Ok, so I've put the second patch on my other butt cheek and not as much response this time  ;D

Yesterday I was as flushed as anything for a couple of hours, my face was burning.  I didn't feel hot, but the skin on my face did and it was very red.  Not a big problem but something I don't usually have.  I feel my muscles are stronger and my joints are not hurting as much.

Oh and keep being ravenously hungry.  Hoping that means my metabolism has sped up and I will lose weight, but who knows.
