Sorry ladies. I just need to scream!!!!

I'm only 43 and been suffering for 2 years. Finally, the realisation that this may be hormonal, so my GP agreed to try the combined pill.

Fast forward 3 months. The settling in period was rough, but now I am a lot better than I was. But..... Started getting daily headaches and migraines each week. Most likely the pill I am on.

So..... I have gone from the 30mg dose of estrogen to the 20mg - same brand. Same progesterone! Well...... Day 4 and I feel horrific. At least I can conclude this whole mess is hormones!!!!! I just want to scream. I can't believe how bad I feel dropping from thd 30 to 20. I mean, in my younger days I would drop to 0 on the 7 day break and never experienced this

Just wanted to vent!!! So fed up. My kids are still in primary school and I just want to give them the mum they deserve.

At least I don't have a headache today!!!!

Can't help you out with HRT but vent away.  It's great we all have this forum to express ourselves.  Hope you get it sorted soon and I'm sure some of the very knowledgeable ladies will be along to offer advice and supporr.

Yup, that was my sitch too. I actually started on the 20, but went up to the 30 as the lower dose wasn't quite managing my symptoms.

Anyway, fast forward a year and a few months on the 30 and things have settled down a lot. Like you, I was really struggling to cope on the pill free days. So I went from 7 pill free days to 4. And that was still a struggle.

So now I take 3 packs in a row and then have 4 days off.

I never quite know what's going to happen on those 4 days off, or how I'm going to feel, but there we go...

I am currently thinking I need the 30mg for symptom control but will need to try a different type as I couldn't take the daily headaches. I am on gederal at present, so a very estrogenic pill, according to the pill ladder.

I think I will ask gp for one from the other side of the ladder, like microgynon. I assume 30mg microgynon will be stronger than my current 20mg gederal.... Even though gederal has the most estrogenic progesterone!!!!

I've done a lot of research..... Just wish something would work!!!!!

Ah yes, I'm on Loestrin. So that's from the progesterone side.

I had Norethisterone for a short while at the very beginning to try and help me with my nightmare symptoms. And that worked like a dream. Plus I actually felt like myself again while I was taking it. I know that Loestrin has norethisterone in it, so I get on really great with it. For now.

Focus. I'm UK and I think loestrin has been discontinued here. It would have been my next choice 🙄

It reads as both. My Gp first prescribed me loestrin in November, but I refused it for that reason.

It's been the most unbelievable hassle even just getting to this point. Honestly.

I had a panic attack yesterday after finding out.

There's a graphic somewhere that tells you where all the various pills fit in to the oestrogen/progesterone side of things. I need to find it and ask for a similar pill.

I honestly just want to live my life without all this shit.

Oh focus. I am so sorry.... I did wonder if I had given you bad news. It is truely horrific that we are meant to put up with this!!!

The Avon pill ladder..... I'll dig it up later and put it up here for you. In saying that, I'm pretty sure not all brands of pill are in it. So go ogling for sane progesterone too.

I'm on day 5 of lower dose..... Feel awful. Even had some spotting, but I'm still on 20mg estrogen. Ffs!!! I hate this!!!

See how much supply your local pharmacist gave and stockpile as much as u can.....
