HRT question
« on: February 20, 2020, 08:53:17 AM »

I'm 53 years old and I've been going through the menopause since time began (or about 10 years more like it), and for the last few years I've been on oestrogel and on my second mirena.  I'm due to see my GP tomorrow to discuss what to do as my latest mirena is due to be changed in March.  I have to say, I really don't want to go through having it taken out and put in again - I found it very painful (tipped uterus and just plain painful - for me, not for everyone I know), and had the most horrific bleed between it being taken out and the new one put in, but will give it a go if there aren't any alternatives.
I'm still getting meno symptoms - just had two weeks of awful sleep and night sweats, but no period at all since last September.
Are there any progesterones that I can take as well as the oestrogel?  I'd like to have a bit of information before I go to see my GP - she's very good, but it's always good to be prepared!
