aniexty through the roof
« on: February 16, 2020, 02:12:12 PM »

ladies need some urgent advice

this morning i've woke up with the most awful chest pain adrenaline surge aniexty through the roof felt like i couldn't breath and it's been on and off all day my arms are heavy since applying the gel there and when i took the gel on its own i had aniexty but as i now take it with utrogestan could the utrogestan be making it worse although feel fine on it otherwise or is it applying the gel on my arms should i go back to thighs ?

please i?m in state of panic and can't seem to calm down

i did take utrogestan at 11 pm last night instead of 9.30 could this be reason felt ok up intill today x been on it 10 days

i've been waking up like this- also sometimes throughout night, also palpitations at night.
damn certain it's utrogestan- sorry not much help but can commiserate!
i only take 100mg vaginally for 1 week cant do any more- then couple days later period, then feel really depressed- that's where i'm at at present- but yes, i do recognise the waking up gaspingand the thumping chest.
i'm going to ask for something else as it puts me back hugely- have no life .
are you feeling any better now? it will pass but my inexpert opinion is that it's definitely the utrogestan.
hopeyou're ok.

hi vintage friend

that's interesting because i suffered aniexty on the estrogen only but today was awful never like before i wondered if it was because i was putting the gel on my arms and that maybe the estrogen was hitting chest area first and heart x

i?ll try it on my thighs like last time see if makes a difference x

I am beginning to wonder if it more about the balance of hormones rather than individual levels. I was given HRT oestrogen only a few years ago and it increased my anxiety hugely although  the doctors said that not possible but we stopped it anyway and I just put up with the hot flushes and mild anxiety was dealt with using yoga etc. Now I have just done the two week loading of Vagifem (Doc said such a small dose and not going into blood stream) and whoa back to panic attacks when driving. I am now just about to embark on the application just twice a week so maybe things will settle. I have also had upset tummy and new vision issues (optician said ocular migraines). So I was thinking I feel more oestrogen dominant than lacking but I dont think my GP will agree. I have just ordered a private Testosterone blood test to see what those levels are like (no sex drive here either). From what I have researched if my Testostorone levels are low the oestrogen will just be unopposed and cause issues.
I am 54 and had a partical hysterectomy due to massive fibroids ten years ago and was told I was menopausal looking at bloods about five years ago.
I may be barking up the wrong tree but perhaps increasing oestrogen is not  always the right thing? Any one have similar ideas?

hi kitty m

i totally agree

i had full hysterectomy everything gone so my E P and T were all low but then when doctors say oh well give u estrogen your be fine uh no i won't estrogen only for a year gave me horrific aniexty i felt crazy on it i stopped it and instantly felt better i continued with the ovestin but now i?m back on it adding progesterone for balance but aniexty back and although sleep improved i've no energy infact more fatigued and libido has gone plus adding utro in had made my vagina dryer

hi ladies

thanks for the responses

i think i've figured out what might iof been the problem i took utrogestan 2 hours later then normal spend the next day feleling awful anyway that night took it at 9 normal time at night and next day was fine so for me i have to stick to the same time every night

i shall see how things go still feeling dryer down there so may well have to increase pumps of gel as ovestin twice a week is enough irritates my bladder each time so don't want anymore

It may be that you are so dry that the 'ovestin' aggravates?  Do you use any other local product, i.e. 'sylc' or 'yes'?

avalon

do you only take estrogen ?

which estrogen patch do u take x

i think my aniexty is caused by the estrogen as i had it when i was on estrogen only hence i?m trying with progesterone to try and balance estrogens effects other then a couple more flushes a little bit dryer down there and aniexty back slight tender boobs i feel fine so i?m hoping in time these symptoms will lessons x

Sammie. I find progesterone increases dryness. I noticed it when I was on a cycle.  When I used utrogestan vaginally it was even worse. And the mirena seems to be doing the same thing.  More moisturiser needed as well as ovestin

The gynae at meno clinic told me that moisturisers work better when the tissues are already well eastrogenised.  I.e from local hormones.  So if you havent done a loading dose for a while it could help to do one then go back to maintenance with the cream and a good moisturiser on the days you dont use it.

hi tc

yeah it does when i was using estrogen only and ovestin twice a week i was wet down there i?ll have to just up ovestin or depending on my bloods increase the gel. x

if i start loosing hair again i?ll stop it a so don't need it as no uterus just taking it to balance estrogen. x

hair shedding isn't as bad as estrogen on its own however is more then when i?m off hrt after being on it 6-8 weeks i noticed the hair shedding picked up a bit so i am about to start testosterone tonight and hope to god it improves my hair sex drive Va and energy if not i?m quitting it all and will just use vaginal estrogen .

I am early days of Estrogel and Testrogel. Just a month in - I think it has improved my moods/energy/sex drive (slightly) and reduced night sweats (they now seem to be morning sweats). Created a lot of vaginal secretions and I feel quite thrushy today! I have had bouts of bloating and indigestion/reflux that the consultant says is not the gels but I am not so sure. Like you I am going to give it the three months and then go back to just Vagifem and try to deal with the anxiety some other way. I spent years getting my digestive system right and I hate that it has taken a backward step. As we in lockdown my anxiety not as apparent as we not going anywhere or doing anything! I did have sore breasts to start with but they seem to have returned to normal today. Its like every day a different ailment! Very frustrating. At least I am not working so have plenty of time to eat properly and exercise etc.
