I really like my coffee in the mornings so this is a bit of a problem, but, I am going to try to reduce my caffeine intake.
Has anyone noticed improvements from giving up caffeine in soft drinks, energy drinks, coffee/tea?
I have been reading about caffeine. It is a stimulant which activates our adrenal (stress) gland and they produce a form of estrogen to help protect bones as we go through menopause, so we do not want to overwork them.
It also causes blood vessels to expand which can increase hot flushes.
Caffeine has an addictive effect on the body so it is better to wean off rather than go cold turkey.
Unfortunately chemicals are used to remove caffeine in decaf drinks so are not recommended if aiming to reduce toxic load on body.
Has anyone stopped caffeine altogether and if so, what are the benefits you have noticed?
