Does anyone take tibilone and add extra oestrogen? Im currently doing this, but was just wondering what the maximum oestrogen level would be that I could add.

Im currently cutting a patch in half but thinking I need a little more to boost it, I wasn't sure if there was a level of oestrogen cut off that could go alongside...may be another question I need to ask my doctor.

The amount of oestrogen tibilone provides isnt quite enough for me, so the other oestrogen is a top up. Ive had a total hysterectomy and BSO so the other hormones it allows your body to produce are to keep my hormones balanced, and hopefully prevent my endometriosis returning.

Im already on 50 patch alongside, but feel the 75 would be better, I'll update you once I've seen my doctor.

Hi Shell - re the added oestrogen to Tibolone - addition of oestrogen to this preparation, which is intended for post-menopausal women with a uterus - is not indicated so there is no maximum amouint - it is not advised. However if you've had a hysterectomy then adding oestrogen won't do any harm as it is the uterus that needs to be protected in its licensed use. Therefore it is just like increasing the oestrogen dose as if you weren't taking Tibolone - ie just try it and see if your doc is happy.

I am really surprised by women with a womb being given oestrogen top-ups with Tibolone but I presume if this is by a specialist consultant/gynae and your uterus is being monitored through regular scans I presume it's OK? Definitely NOT to be done without medical supervision due to risk of endometrial hyperplasia ( abnormal thickening).

According to my Dr Tibilone is more testosterone based than any of the other components in it,which i think is why it is given to help libido

Hi I had a total hysterectomy and BSO by age 34, so no worries were the uterus is concerned. I felt I needed Tibilone to even out my hormones, and mentally I feel so much more stable and in a better place. The oestrogen effect just isnt enough, but the others seem to equal me out and the progesterone element is hopefully keeping my returning Endo at bay (I'll know more after my gynae visit.
Hopefully I'll be able to increase my oestrogen just to get the benefits.
