I have post d in other posts but this is a new symptom 
Have ibs and taking ranitidine and gaviscon for reflux which has been doing the trick so far butnlast couple nights I been waking up suddenly then unsure if it's hit flush but start a wave of warm up upper back like a trickle then prickly feel little bit warm on front then it goes and comes again in couple of waves, then think I feel acid? Get tummy ache and have to let wind out sorry 😐 peeps then try to get sleep upright. Also got burning tongue which gp looked at and being treated for oral thrush whatvthe hell is goingnon please xxx

Jaypo I'm already taking ranitidine and gaviscon although the availability on it is bit hit and miss I'm nit allowed to take omprezole but there is another one that I maybe could take

Hot flushes/flashes can make the body feel weird.

It can affect the gut too.  For me reflux is awful and usually 'rennies' helps.  However, the constant cough with it means that I take 'omeprazole' as it's caused by reflux.  Sometimes I woke with chest pain - indigestion - which 4 me is different from reflux 

Try not to eat/drink too close to going to bed!

Update have slept better last couple nights no jumping out of bed but still wake up once in night with a feeling of something coming up through body? Nothing comes out mouth so dunno if anxiety or reflux but prop up myself but more to go back asleep any other ideas?x

Yes I guess so I don't feel like I want be sick or anything just I wake up when it feels like it's going up to my chest? Did het bit warm after is it all really just anxiety and heat? Worrying me cos gp said if meds not working would have to go for ore tests and wit gaviscon I can feel that takes while to slide down  have had oral thrush so dunno if throat inflamed

Wel after another night of waking up at 1am then awake for hours and think it is reflux will have to go gp again
Saw lady doctor in week about burning mouth all she wanted to do was put me on hrt no thanks will let you know

Hi Booroo,

I had very bad reflux when the menopause hit me,I had never had it before, so bad that ended up with an endoscopy which diagnosed reflux, I also had burning mouth syndrome it's horrendous I had all types of mouth washes and lozenges nothing apart from HRT helped it. I didn't want to take it initially but along with all the usual symptoms I couldn't stand the burning mouth any longer and it subsided very quickly and that was a massive relief.

I also had the weird under skin creepy crawly feeling it felt like a spider had got underneath the skin right at the top of my back and shoulders and was crawling around mixed with an almost sun burnt feeling that has gone since HRT but has returned recently I think due to a change from patches to gel due to the shortages.

I hope you get sorted but thought I'd reply so you know you're not alone especially with the burning mouth xx

I didn't want to take anti-depressant medication but without it I wouldn't be typing here!

What is your diet like and generally how many hours before bedtime do you eat?

I have health anxiety too done all of counselling for that lol
Gp advised dieticians but I've looked myself online and doing food diary which is helping and have to take my ranitidine at bedtime instead of 1 in morning and 1 in bedtime I've lost weight which is good thing nice and steady started cerazette again cos don't want periods but has set off anxiety again
I woke in night with taste in mouth so drunk gaviscon and slept upright instead of wedge.
Jari unsure had anxiety about 6 years ago when mum died and I just had baby after long gap then maybe about 2017/2018 periods all flooded and nearly fainting hence the pill then lost my dad so maybe 4 years in I don't know
Birdy don't want it too much hype over side effects I'm quite sensitive to meds
Clkd how you cope with side effects I had setraline but only did one dose cos did not want to feel like that
