Need advice please. I have been on Elleste solo 2mg tablet for a month, previously on 1mg for 3 months. Gel didn't work for me.
No improvement in symptoms so far.
I use Utro orally for 3 weeks out of 4. My week off was December 19th- 25th. On Monday i forgot to take it - fell asleep too quickly. On Tuesday i had a very small bleed.
For a week before that i had been having very bad backache, bloating, episodes of diarrhoea and constipation. I do suffer from acid reflux but don't normally have a problem with my stomach to that extent. My guess is that the Estrogen is setting this off?
This morning i just have brown discharge but still have backache etc.
Should i be concerned? And does this mean that the Elleste is finally working? Is it possible that I will see an improvement in my issues?

Oral HRT can upset the digestion - and some find oral utrogestan particularly has this effect. If you have upset guts this will also impact on how much of each tablet (the oestrogen and the progsterone) you digest and therefore absorb so your systemic levels may vary.

Also I think I have read that you are peri-menopausal so your own cycle may well kick in to give unpredictable bleeding. I should give it a while longer as you are taking utrogestan on a longer duration than most who take it cyclically - and hopefully this may lessen the bleed. As always if you are worried then see your doctor especially if your diarrhoea/constipation continues as persistent changes in bowel habit need to be checked out.

Normally transdermal HRT would be recommended with nausea or digestive problems on oral HRT  - especially as it can affect absoprtion. If the gel didn't suit you then there are also patches to try.

hi

when i first started estrogen gel i got bad back ache , cramping in abdomen , 3 uti
sore throat sinus issues headaches hair shedding bloating weight gain gut issues fatigue constipation then diarrhea mood up and down but it settled down after 8 months , but if i increased the gel i was hit with aniexty and depression more sweating really wet vagina so wet knickers so i stayed at two pumps x all settled apart from hair shedding bloating mood headaches fatigue x and flagging libido

i've has hysterectomy so no need for progesterone but a lot gets blamed on progesterone and personally i think a lot is estrogen and in my case estrogen dominance progesterone balances estrogen.

i've stopped my hrt to see what benefit it had and to be honest benefit was on my sleep , bones heart dry mouth eyes skin other then that not much else since being off it my mood better aniexty gone headaches gone but va a little worse so more ovestin needed hair still shedding its been nearly 5 weeks .

i think the side effect of the estrogen your taking is back ache , i initially tried the elleste patch and i had bad chest pains and breathlessness on them and blurred vision would never take them again
