Hi Pam001

You have been given the wrong advice by your GP here...the licensed dose for cyclical Utrogestan is actually 200 mg for 12 days per 28. If you are post-menopause as you are, then you take the progesterone daily or sometimes 25 days out of 28. This should be set out in the patient leaflet. Maybe there was a reason for the doc prescribing less? This is the no-bleed regime, although some bleeding or spotting may be expected in the first 6 months as your womb gets used to having oestrogen again. However some women start with just oestrogen only for a while to see how they feel on this before inroducing the protgesterone ie take it cyclically eg for 3 months. Some however thrive on the daily regime from the start so you may be fine!
Good news is that hopefully soon you will say goodbye to the flushes, and sweats - you may well get a few side effects at first but bear with them and let them settle and hopefully you will be on the road to feeling a lot more like yourself soon
