Feeling so fed up
« on: November 07, 2019, 12:50:43 PM »

I am almost 60 and was feeling really well so I started to cut my hrt patch to see how I would do was doing ok then a fortnight ago woke in the night with the most horrendous dizzy spells I couldent stand with double vision, anyway ended up in hospital where they think I had a TIA so now I'm having to have all sorts of tests at outpatients to see what exactly happened they did say I can still use my hrt which I am it's estrogen only.I no this probably could have happened anyway but I keep thinking why did I mess with my hrt .?

Hello Anjia

I'm sorry to hear that you have had this trouble and you have my sympathy. I am 63  and I am coming up to four months without using any HRT at all. I have noticed various changes since coming off HRT four months ago and the instability is very frustrating and frightening. I would say however that I had a virus recently which included daily dizzy spells along with a cough and sore throat. It is reassuring that your doctors are being cautious but could you have had a virus that caused your dizzy spells?

I hope you get the answers you need very soon and I wish you well.

Take care.

At least you are being followed up.

All kinds of things can cause dizziness: virus, a nerve in the back of the neck, low blood sugar ..........

It can also be caused by inner or middle ear goings on. You wouldn't think your ears can affect balance, your vision and dizzines but they so can. Hope you feel better soon.
