Hi ladies been a while since i last posted but always dipping in to read how everyone is doing......here goes was called to see GP this evening at the urgent care clinic having taken a urine sample into surgery earlier today...... I have had an on going urine problem which they can't seem to get to the root of......no real infection found this time but sample being sent to lab.....however doctor did a internal exam and has said i have white rim around outer  bits 😳 she thinks “maybe “ linconsceorosis??.....has prescribed a steroid in case 😳.....but also said my cervix is a bit inflamed so has referred onto a gynaecologist with 2 week window to have a cloproscopy (spelling) i am now out of my mind  with worry ......i am using Vagifem twice weekly and had ovaries
Removed 2 years ago....sorry for long  post just need some reassurance 😘😘

Why don't GPs give advice as they sent off samples etc.!!

It is probably that Vagifem isn't enough, some ladies have to use every night.  Infection is unlikely to be found on surgery dip-stick, ALL samples should be sent to a Lab..  Some ladies do have embedded infections which take months to clear but you would have more several symptoms.

Steroids ?  are OK but why has she prescribed something 'in case' when you may not require it 

Could you take a short term appt for the colonoscopy?

Hi CLKD its a colposcopy that I'm having done spelt it wrong in my post 🙄🤪.....but my sentiments entirely giving me a strong steroid when not even sure what is wrong....feel very anxious xx

Of course you do.  It's the not knowing!

Would you be able to take a short-notice appt., if so give the Dept a ring and offer your details so that you can be called if someone cancels: unless of course there is preparation

The 2 week window is that a patient should be seen B4 the 2 weeks is up.

Try not to worry easier said than done, I was in a similar situation recently. Went to gynae to ask for testosterone Dr did an internal  said vagina looked a bit pale, start of VA, also said cervix looked very red and inflamed and possible infection. She said I'd have to have colposcopy on 2 week wait, had colposcopy with a lovely Dr he said cervix looked perfectly normal and no signs of any infection. He said I had a large ectropian which is just an area of the cervix where the cells are one layer thick so look red, completely normal.
Didn't come away with much confidence in the gynae doctor at all and she wouldn't give me any testosterone either as she put it " it was the least of my problems!!"

Hard not to be anxious but chances are everything will be ok.

Is the  colposcopy a fairly simple procedure?  So anxious 🙄 xx

Yes the colposcopy is pretty simple much like having a smear. A speculum is used then they look using a camera but it doesn't go internally, they wipe the cervix with acetic acid basically vinegar but it doesn't hurt

Hi Mrs Bennett, I wondered how you were doing.  It's might be worth ringing a few times for cancellations as suggested,  if you can go at short notice.  I did a while ago and got in. Can't add to the good advice already given but hope all goes well.  You've had a tough time of it I remember. X

maybe i will call .....I'm not very assertive though 🙄
Hopefully i will get urine test result tomorrow also doctor did a swab...
Decided against using the steroid cream until they can be sure that i need it....have been putting diprobase ointment all around burning/stinging
area which is helping a bit.....keep wondering if the Vagifem could make
cervix appear inflammed ?.....i am dosing twice weekly but it doesn't always dissolve fully.....just wish i wasn't such a worrier 😳 xx
