Tridestra
« on: September 24, 2019, 12:43:33 PM »

Hi just a little bit about me
Im 51 and have had no periods for 10 months.
I'm taking sertraline for anxiety.i have been prescribed tridestra hrt .
I have only taken it for 2 days took it at 5pm. Ist night couldn't sleep until 4am.
(didnt have insomnia previously)
Today felt awful, not with it, anxious, can't think straight or carry on with normal routines.
I was desperate to try hrt. For menopausal symptoms probably have most of them.
Can anyone offer any advice please?

Tridestra is a 3 month cyclical hrt routine.  A bleed every 3 months.  If they put you on it when you are just starting out with hrt, it is very difficult to judge what is going on. Our own bodies can take up to 3 months on continuous of 1 monthly cycle hrt to settle.  It is nearly impossible to work out with Tridestra how it is going to work for you until you have been on at least 2 cycles which is 6 months and is a very long time.  Mostly it is given to women who have been on other forms of hrt and who may well be post meno but need or want a bleed due to issues with progesterone.

I was 56 and post when they put me on it and I only managed 1 3 month cycle. The oestrogen part was fine but the progesterone part gave me headaches and my blank weeks I got very aggressive PMT so I changed from it to another form of hrt.
Out of all I have taken (and there have been a few) gel and utrogestan with a bleed has been best for me.
