Bruised feeling

I feel like a right wally asking this, but I am worrying myself with it so I'm hoping the old adage a problem shared might help me.
I have been getting pain around my breast for the last couple of months on and off and I got up the nerve to prod a bit and think it's my ribs under and around my breast. It feels bruised from below my breast right up to under my armpit and slightly round to my back. I've tried wearing a different bra in case it's the wires, but no difference.
Have any of you had this and if you did, did it take long to go x

I have sore, tender breasts all the time. 47, peri, no HRT.
If I press them and around them it feels sore and bruised.
The pain and twinging and soreness radiates into my armpits.
Mammogram in May was fine.
But I do have hot, lumpy and sore boobs all the time.
It's been a problem for me for about 3 years now.
If you see my other posts, you'll see that sore boobs and health anxiety are my peri specialisms

I've always had lumpy breasts and they used to really hurt just before my periods, but I never worried as the C word was never mentioned. It's only as I've got older and now on hrt that I've become aware of every twinge and I've panicked as it's only one side that hurts x
I'm in early peri and 48 and become somewhat of a nervous wreck x

Hi Countrygirl. I understand your worry but as the pain and discomfort is only in one breast then I would say it's best to have a chat with your GP just to find out what's causing it. We have many muscles around the rib cage so it could simply be that you have somehow strained yourself?

I was told the same.
Ibuprofen and favourite manky old bra help.

Add to that Starflower Oil and wearing a bra 24/7 (works for me but not of course for everyone) xx

Sounds like inflamed cartalige. It usually occurs where the ribs meet the breast bone. Can be very painful and clears up eventually (I've had it myself). If you are worried though always see your doctor.
If you can leave the bras off for a while. That's the only thing that cured mine.
