Karen - Utrogestan as Rosie says...now they might not be able to find it under that because Utrogestan is the trade name from Besins ho make it, but they need to prescribe "micronized progesterone", cos that's what it is.  They prescribe it in NI x

Hi
I'm calling GP in morning as it was GP who told me she had called the hrt clinic and they couldn't find another pill to do same job ?? Yet hrt clinic told me on phone that my GP can change me to another pill to do the same job ????
Who's telling lies ?
I've stuck this provera out and it's really not easing with side effects my tummy is going crazy can't eat feeling sick from day 3 of talking the hateful pill plus anxiety is huge plus the sweats are now back !!!

Plus I've still no bleed and my last pill was last Thursday, honestly it's really getting me down as my mood is crap
So I will ask the GP about the above which yous have mentioned and see what she says , that's if I even get a call back from her as to make appointment is 6 week waiting time

Thank yous so much ladies

Oh Kaz, sorry about the GP...what can I say >:(
There is definitely a problem with your doctor and not the clinic at the Mater telling "lies" as you put it. They know all about Utrogestan, cos I'm on it and that's where I went!  I wonder why your GP is so resistant?  Maybe because she hasn't a clue what she's doing or maybe Utrogestan is more expensive to the practice?  Still no news on your op? x

Ladybt

It's starting to really get to me now , as it is as if they are pushing he from pillar to post she said hrt clinic said no other pill yet they told me different abd because I'm now discharged from them I can no longer get the chat with any of the staff

All I know is I can't stick provera no longer. Do if the patch is my only option il use it abd no haven't heard anymore word on my surgery.

Il use the gel tonight again as I'd already my 2 pumps on when GP called me so if I can get down to pick prescription up in morning I will if not it will be Thursday so until I get the patch picked up il use the gel as I seem fine using it ( only I have noticed my sweats are coming back )

Such a bloody mess this menopause is for us

I hope your feeling better ?

Yes, I'm feeling better, I had a major blip but for once it didn't last long and I have managed to get back to where I was quite quickly which is a bit of a revelation.  Now I know that these feelings won't come and stay for the first time in my life really, so if it happens again then I might be able to get my head round it better.  I used to get the very odd "good day" about 4 times a year and then we would be back to where we were before but I would reckon that I am 85% better than I have been for over 20 years in all sorts of areas and although some people wouldn't think what I feel is normal, I would say that it is way more than I had ever expected! I had pretty much given up on life :-\.  By day 7 of my utro I am starting to get tearful, depressed and tired but I can live with it as I know it's going to stop soon.

I just hope that you get sorted :) you have been waiting ages, although that's not new in NI! and its getting worse. Flaming doctors are really no help at all and to be honest the bad ones can make a poor situation absolute hell! and what's worse they haven't a clue how bad they make us feel with their indifference.  If you are not in a good mental state then sometimes I think their attitudes can be quite dangerous. The Mater signed me off with only 1 visit and 2 telephone calls and no follow up and my GP wasn't impressed so she is sending another referral as she said they should have followed up after a year if not 6 months.  I'm not worried about anything in particular, just that I have lengthened my cycle to 21or 28 days + 12 days utro and I want them to check womb lining and testosterone levels.

Which conti patch - is it Evorel?  You've had them before? - No??? - you changed cos they were not working - yes?? x

Hi ladybt
Yes your right I was on them patches back in November (I think )
I was getting the odd headache but nothing major , plus my skin had became so dry it was actually peeling of and cracking around my ears and nose ect , then the odd hot flush would pop up .
That's when I thought no I've had enough I need to see hrt clinic after a few months . So saw them on 1st April they changed he to the gel and the provera , as I say the gel is great for he but them provera are wrecking he , my stomach starts on day 3 of taking them then I get another new flaming side effect each day , I'm of them from last Thursday still tummy is feeling odd , and still no bleed o really by using this method I've the 12 days of taking the pill then the cramps in tummy until the bleed arrives then waiting to it ends so it's feeling like none stop crap ..

I will go back to the patch as this seems to be the only my GP can offer me

So fingers crossed for me !!

I'm glad your feeling better ladybt and one day maybe we could meet up for a coffee ?

Yes would love to meet.  I couldn't take Provera at all, they made me really ill and sent my head do-lally completely, dangerously so. It was the worst stuff out of all I have been given. Are you taking them continuously or on a cycle.  I'm sure you would be ok with Utrogestan taken vaginally if only you could get someone with some sense to prescribe them. :(  What makes it so frustrating is the answer is so simple  >:(

Ladybt
No I just took them 12 days a month but they honestly give he awful side effects
I'd planned on sticking it out until surgery but goodness knows how much longer il wait so I can't do it !!
I stopped them last Thursday and still have really bad cramping in tummy but still no bleeding has arrived yet so really it's running into weeks theyr effecting me so did that it's definitely worth it plus the sweats are back !!!

It's so annoying when one doctor tells you one thing and another says different so I will use the patches and pray they help I honestly can't remember fully how I felt on them the last time as my memory is just getting worse which I'm also blaming that on provera too as I definitely wasn't this bad before I started that awful stuff

Yes when I get sorted out we will definitely have to meet up for coffee in Belfast town ? If that suits you ?
