Two ladies I know have been so kind to me with a recent problem and I was wanting to buy them a little gift to say thank you, any suggestions? I want to avoid chocolates, wine and flowers if I can. What are your thoughts please??

What about tea out somewhere. It doesn't have to be the Ritz but could be somewhere local. Lots of posh hotels do it, right across the country.

My dad was in hospital recently and rather than buying chocolates etc, we gave each nurse a (very nice brand) shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. They were really delighted and said how nice it was to have something they would use. I bought ones that were on offer (£6 each down to £3) so each nurse had £18 worth of toiletries for less Just £9 each cost to me xxx

It was candles I was going to suggest too, or a nice house plant!

Thank you ladies, I think I will go for something like a fancy reed diffuser or the candle idea, I can go shopping with an idea in mind now. Thanks again

Not sure how to start a new thread here, but would like some ideas for a wedding gift,
Something not too expensive, as will have another gift, more of a memento of their wedding
Also something that can go by air preferably not breakable, for a couple who have been together for over 30 years bu just decided to get married abroad

How lovely. Presumably they have everything? How much do you want to spend, have a look at Toni Watts web-site. She is an artist that does lots of paintings as well as embroidery which she embellishes with gold.
Do you know what their hobbies/interests are? If they go bird watching how about a weekend at le Strange Arms, Hunstanton combining a bird trip to Titchmarsh ........ a gift token will fly ;-)

Do you have any lovely old photos of them together?
You can take them to Jessops and get enlarged and put in a framed cardboard card?!

They live n Spain, and i think their hobbies are eating and drinking .lol, but they have lots of BBQs, so i was just thinking of something to commemorate the wedding day
I will have a look when i go to town next week, maybe something that can be engraved i was thinking.
Thanks for ideas though,
