It is all a bit hypercritical about compounded HRT though, as on the one hand these menopause experts say they're unsafe because the dosages are unregulated and then, with the other hand, they give women off licence testosterone doses.

If it's helping women why try to close it down? Any reputable docs that prescribe compounded meds will always try to get their patients to try the regulated ones first (usually Oestrogel and Utrogestan) but if these are too strong then they will go to the compounded as another option which helps many women who can't handle the NHS bulk doses.

Also, when I was considering HRT, out of 2 BHRT clinics and my GP, the only docs I came across who didn't know that enough progesterone needed to be taken to control oestrogen HRT was the GP. BHRT clinics are BMA docs who specialise in menopause so this article is silly to suggest they wouldn't know this.

Well they tend to roll out the same spiel about once a year against the ‘C’ word.

The NHS are pretty strapped so we should not really be discouraging people from funding their own healthcare (if they choose) by frightening them away with supposition.

Hello again ladies.

There were two articles in yesterday's Guardian newspaper , one about compounded HRT and the other calling for research. I've just posted about them elsewhere on the forum but as I didn't get around to reading the links I'm wondering if yesterday's were just the print copy of the online version. Oops!
