As title really pleased with them they have been thoroughly checked by Dr Louise Newson so everything is correct.

I have had no sponsorship or been paid to print them ( 5,000) the sales from the book has paid for them, the leaflet also mentions VA due to breast cancer, breast feeding & some medications as it's not just menopause that can cause it.

They are very informative & overtime potentially they will be in 5 other languages I have had offer of help, this will take time a GP has offered to do & arrange this.

I now have medics saying my book should be “obligatory “ reading material & someone who works in elderly care said it should be part of the caring side of the learning as elderly care and VA issues are pretty 😢.

I will message Emma & see if I am allowed to put a link up, I hope so as we have been talking for years about the need for a VA leaflet.

The leaflet is downloadable to self print or I can send professionally printed ones for the price of second class postage.

Next will be a poster.

I'm trying 😊but it's hard work & requires a lot of social media PR but it's starting to pay off, and word is definitely starting to get out there.

The emails & messages I get from ladies are truly 😢it really is the silent hush hush of menopause & care homes for many 😏 who's doing the ladies local oestrogen ? Highly likely no one & it's not even on the radar of the care homes or medics, this must change.

Maryjane what an absolute star you are, I take my hat off to you.

A few months back I was in waiting room in hospital waiting to see my gynaecologist. The lady next to me, who told me she was 81, starting chatting to me and said she was here for a long awaited appt with a urologist to discuss the repeated UTI's she had been suffering with for over 20 years! She said she was at her wits end and sick of going backwards and forwards to doctors for more antibiotics. She had finally convinced her doctor to see a specialist.

I suggested that it might be VA. She had never heard of it and I explained the symptoms. She said her doctor had never mentioned it to her but had simply told her urinary problems were something you had to be used to in old age!

Anyway, I wrote a few bits down for her and suggested she questioned the urologist. When I told her it could be treated she nearly cried.

I will never know how she got on as I didn't see her again but I really hope she got the treatment she needed.

A few of my friends have mentioned their on going issues with burning, irritation and UTI's too and it is staggering that doctors just dish out antibiotics without even thinking it could be VA.

I know from bitter experience how debilitating this condition can be so big thanks to you for what you are doing.

I remember when you said on here that you dreamed of doing this.

It is so exciting to see this dream of yours becoming a reality   :foryou:

So many women will be helped by this.

You are an inspiration.  What could we all do, if only we could harness that bee in our bonnet?  :)

You go girl.   What a great idea and such tenacity.  I wouldn't have the patience.  Let's hope your booklet will show the medical community what it's like from OUR side.

I have handed out leaflets to our GP Surgery, took some and a copy of the book to the Surgery that is involved at Mum's Care Home and who was her Practice until she moved.  I also gave the new Manager at the Home leaflets, explaining that there should be a copy of the book already in the Office which I left in the Spring.

I'm on a roll ;-)

For info: there are a few leaflets available to download from the Leaflets page

Vaginal atrophy - a change with the menopause.
Vaginal Health Leaflet.
Vaginal atrophy checklist.

And many others.

Hello Maryjane.

Congratulations! Your hard work is certainly paying off.

Do you think that VA is inevitable post menopause or do some lucky women escape this particular misery?

Well done again and wishing you well.
