Iam going to scream

Hello fellow menopause sufferers, please could someone give me some advice, i am a 54 year old woman, no period for over a year, fully intact womb and my doctor has prescribed me Estraderm MX50 should i have been prescribed this with intact womb? also it is no longer available, what hit should i be on, all answers welcome
My doctor is very nice but a male about 65 years old and by self admission doesn't really know about HRTgasp

If you are in the UK you can go along to your local pharmacist for a chat about HRT products and discuss what you have been prescribed.  They have private rooms.

Also, put the product name into the search box here and see if anything pops up.  Which symptom would you like to ease first, maybe put that in and see any comments: i.e. flushes, skin dryness, vaginal/bladder problems.  Make notes  ;)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Your GP is right, he really doesn't know anything about it! This level of ignorance is astonishing and downright dangerous.

If you have a uterus then you must use a progestogen  alongside the oestrogen patch. It sounds as though you have realised this already. As I no longer have a uterus I can't advise on that, but I'm sure others will be along shortly.

Hi thank you for the reply , this morning i have been on the phone to pharmacist and she has suggested evorel conti , can i just ask would that be right for me , pharmacist was lovely and super helpful, but just double checking, feel really tired itchy no zest for life ugh just rubbish really , hope this one helps, also has affected my sex life to the extent that i just never feel like being intimate anymore i feel sad for that part of my life, thanks for all your help

Hi There is a shortage of Evorel Conti at the moment.

You can use the patch you have been given with Utrogestan for the progesterone. x
