This Morning programme today
« on: August 01, 2019, 11:00:48 AM »

Morning ladies.  Did any of you see the item on The Morning today which covered Menopause ?  They had 2 of our leading experts on there answering callers' questions and generally talking about causes, symptoms etc on the menopause.  I thought it was very informative but I just wish they could have had extra time to cover more.  One thing they mentioned that I didn't know was there is a menopause map which I think can be found on the BMS website giving details of menopause specialists both nhs and private.  I will be looking at this to find someone in my area as still struggling with it all.

Anyway, for anyone who didn't see it today, you might want to take a look at some point.

Wishing you all well.

Hi Rosie, yes l saw it and and also wished they could have had more time! I missed the intro but  also learnt about the menopause map and enjoyed the robust recommendation of hrt to deal with perimenopausal mood swings ( instead of anti depressants)  by the lady called Anne ( Didn't catch her surname.)  Do you know if she is a doctor as she referred to her clinic?

I tried to access the BMS website after the programme and it was down due to 'over capacity'.
This struggle is real ladies,

If you look at the top of this page, on the black navigation tabs, it has 'Specialists'. Guess where that goes to?

You are lucky there Maryjane.  I wish I could find someone like her.

I've had a look at the BMS website using the link above and just wondering if the specialists named are all Menopause specialists?  I ask because one of the doctors on the programme said to go to a menopause specialist as not all gynaecologists are expert in that field.  Does anyone know please ?

They are. They have accreditation from the BMS. You can read on their website what accreditation involves.
