Provera
« on: July 23, 2019, 03:47:14 PM »

Hi ladies
Just wondering if you can give me any advice , as you know I'm using 2pumps eastogel morning 2 pumps again at night , take 12 day course of provera once a month but it's absolutely wrecking me with anxiety, sweats, no sleep, tummy acid , I phoned hrt clinic weeks ago ,doc phoned he back saying use the provera every other month as I'm waiting for surgery to have womb removed and prolapse repaired he said I'd be ok just to use it every 2 months , I'm just finished my 12 day course on Saturday and I'm still feeling awful the mood hasn't picked up at all plus I've no engery at all
I'm going phone hrt clinic in morning and ask if they can give me something else instead of provera but I haven't a clue what to ask them for or even is there another hrt which does same thing as provera ??
Plus it's around 14 days after I stop provera before I have the bleed so honestly feed up feeling crap while taking provera then I'm only starting to feel better when I'm getting hit with heavy bleeding

Any ideas what I could ask for to replace provera

If you wish to continue using the gel the only options as far as I am aware are Utrogestan, Provera or the Mirena coil.

The only other things you could try are tablets or patches but you may have already tried theses sorry I can't remember.

Hey Karen, Lanza's right if you want separate oestrogen then it's utro, provera or the Mirena but if you are having a womb op hen Mirena not really appropriate. I couldn't take provera with my gel, it just didn't agree.  I think it is because you have to swallow it.
When I got my utrogestan, I didn't even try to swallow it I just went straight to vaginal insertion and it has been fine.

Hi folks
I called the hrt clinic this morning and because they have discharged me now as I'm waiting on surgery , staff nurse told me to phone my own GP and she could give me something different than provera she didn't say what it was and to be honest I didn't as I'm really pissed if with it all now (acting like a child in a bad temper I am )
Anyway up until now my GP hasn't called me back to tell me what she will change me to but I'm in no hurry as I just finished the provera on Sunday thankfully as that bloody pills definitely don't like me at all and really upsets my mood plus all the other side efects it brings
On brighter side I just stopped it on Sunday and staining started last night and period is on its way not waiting 15 days later for period like last time

Holy moly this menopause is worse thing ever !!

Just to let yous know yous that suffer from anxiety I went and get anxiety piercing in my ear done on 10th july and I really notice the difference anxiety is much lower (well when not taking provera )
Definitely worth yous looking into it ladies

Think it's coming 4 months
I feel fine using the gel and it's definitely helping me but the second after after taking provera I feel awful and it seems to get worse as the days go by .
Hrt clinic told me to use it every second month which I done but I honestly need it changed as the side effects are nit nice , I only took it 10 days there instead of 12 noway could I stand side effects any longer , even my brain felt fried

I couldn't manage with Provera either Karen and after 4 months if that bit were going to get better then it should be moving in that direction by now.  It sent me completely off my head...and believe me I have been a bit that way before but nothing like what it did to me.  Utrogestan doesn't do it to me and I am fine...I wasn't fine when I started I needed it to settle but at 4 months it had, but there again, there are  ladies that suit provera over utro...the trouble starts if you cannot manage either????? xxx

Him
I'm praying nit much longer to wait on surgery and then after that I won't need the bloody thing .
I seem to be sensitive with all hormone related pills as I remember back when I was on birth control pill they couldn't get one to suit me either , I could cope with the provera if I'd only a few side effects but I'm getting hit with to many and that feeling of madness in my lphead drives me crazy !! It feels almost like my head is going to explode..
My GP didn't return the call today so maybe she is able to try me on a different pill (I dunno ) but hrt clinic said there definitely are a few others doc can give me so il wait maybe tomorrow il get the call if nothing il book appointment with GP and see what she has to say .
Can't understand why hrt discharged me either as I never was called back for review to see how I was getting on with the hrt so really is silly to me that I'd no follow up with them ..

I don't need to have another bleed once this one is over until September so I've time to try and get something sorted out as noway can I go on taking provera

Hi
No I've not been given that one yet provera has been first , my GP still hasn't returned my call back so I will phone GP surgery in morning and if there isn't prescription already there for me to replace provera I will make appointment to see GP
To be honest I'd rather get a pill that suits me and I can use every month as I need the flash bleed as I've still womb and I really don't like thought of doc saying it's fine just to use every 2 months do I'm definitely wanting it changed to different pill which I can hopefully use each month with out any problems the bleeding each month don't bother me to be honest as long as I'm feeling ok and don't have the awful menopause symptoms il take the bleed each month ...
so fingers crossed I'm sorted out with new pills for start of Aug
I will let you all know how I get in with the GP

Thank you lovely people xx

Have a look and read about the anxiety ear piercing I would recommend it to anyone it's helped me lots ..
I'm in Northern Ireland and there was only one guy I could find in Belfast who dose this , if you can't find anything about it pm me and I will send you his fb page name and you can read over all the reviews sent by folk who have had it done
It's works the same way as the piercing fir headaches works only it's done on different part of your ear honestly the difference is amazing

Pmsl if you need any more advice about it xx

Where in the ear does the piercing go ? Do you have to fiddle with the earring for it to work, or does it just do it on its own ?

Hi
The piercing is round about the flat part of your inner ear ,just below the rim of you ear
No you don't touch it , they seem to put the hole in your ear then move the heddle down a little as the back of the earring isn't level with the front (if that makes sense ) ?
The earring has a wee small back on it ball shaped so you don't feel it when you have your head on pillow ect
It heals up with in a week ( well mine did ) but the difference in the anxiety is unreal

It's bloody awful I waited months to be sent to hrt clinic went they give ne the gel to use every day which helped he fantastic its this bloody provera that's wrecking me o chalked them and the doc from clinic phoned me back said just use the provera every second month as I'm waiting on surgery it should be ok and do no harm to lining if womb , then they discharged me what the hell ?
They told me call GP he will change the provera to another hrt called on Monday waited for a call back didn't happen so I called this morning " no GP wants to see you before giving hrt to you " why didn't they call me back tell me that on Monday ?? Now only appointment I can get is Sep what the hell !! 😡
I'm calling them again in minday mirning and demanding to see a GP we gave 5 at the surgery surely one of them can fit he in for 5 bloody minutes

This provera is wrecking me side effects are awful only thing is I don't need to use it again until Sep as I've took my july does but even the flash bleed it's giving he is strange it's more like a stain rather than a bleed
NHS is just getting worse
