Hi! I was in the same boat 2 years ago when diagnosed with earl6 meno at 41. Things will be better with time and with hrt I can feel normal again. Enjoy your holiday! :)

When you say you were told you were "in menopause" does this mean you have gone through it ie no natural periods for 12 months (and not on mini pill or Mirena)?

If that is the case then it is advisable to start HRT as soon as you can irrespective of diet, exercise and symptoms - which you say have been bothering you anyway - although it is important to attend to these lifestyle measures too!

If you are on mini pill and Mirena and no obvious period cycle to tell you where you are in menopause then you only have the FSH test to tell you and if this is raised, then even if you are not yet post-menopausal ( which you wouldn't know) it would still be advisable to start HRT given your age.
