Dear Climbing Girl, I am 47 and also firmly in perimenopause, with ALL the symptoms you describe, having been this way for 3/4 years now.
One of the things that peri has done for me, and it sounds like the same for you, has made me conscious of my body in ways I never was before. The various and many aches and pains mean that I focus and fixate upon all these separate issues which has led to or rather fuels (it's a bit of a chicken and egg situation) what is now awful health anxiety for me.
I'm definitely a different person to my pre-peri self!
I've found this website such a help sbd I've taken a lot of comfort from the kind and wise ladies on it.
My GP told me she “didn't have time for the menopause†and, whilst she is very kind and an excellent doctor, definitely thinks all my problems are mental ones!
Without wishing to generalise, I find that staying in control of the big picture - sleep, diet, weight, exercise, good diary management - helps me to cope better with all of the individual issues, or at least trying to (it's 2.43am where I am at the moment!!).
Hope you manage to navigate through this experience. I was wholly unprepared for all of it. Lots of love xx
