Hello!

I'm 45 years old peri-menopausal and have tried both Elleste Duet and Femoston 1mg which made me incredibly irritable
and bloated, however they did help loads with anxiety and sleep.

I then read that a combo of Estrogel and Utrogestan might be a better option for bloating and irritability, so have now moved on to 1 pump of Estrogel and 100 Mg of Utrogestan orally from day 1 to 25.

However, I have read that if you are Peri-menopausal you should not be taking Utrogestan from day 1 to 25 but only 15 to 26?

The Utrogestan is also making me exhausted and super sleepy during the day don't think can continue being this tired does this eventually go away?

I know there isn't a one size fits all with HRT so trying to work out the best combo for me.

Thank you for any advice!

Thanks Dotty!

The Utrogestan is causing me to fall asleep at my desk at work. I'll try it for a full month and see if it gets any better. At least it's helping loads with my sleep and anxiety/panic attacks!

Worth a try to take on altenate days. People also wueried this with me...why and i should be on a cycle. One size doesnt fit all....and i.didnt fancy the ups.and downs of a cycle....so hoping ive now found a balance! Again - worth a try

I'm in peri and have been prescribed 200mg for 12 days which I take vaginally. It's more usual to take it cyclically while in peri. I also get very tired on it and for this reason I'm planning to continue to take it cyclically when in meno, I'd hate to zonked out all the time. I'm lucky to have a 6 week natural cycle which I've stuck to. If you try taking less than the standard dose I'd advise you to have regular scans to be sure the lining isn't building up.

Sheila99 do you just request regular scans or is this done through a menopause clinic? I'm experimenting with 5 week cycle as not getting on well with evorel conti and always had a 5/6 week cycle.
